Ruby
The weather in Toronto was quite warm, so my yellow knee-length dress fitted perfectly with the weather.
We both were standing in front of a beige color mansion. It was a fudging Palace.
I was gawking from outside, but I could feel Vexon looking at me in amusement as he was standing next to me. I couldn't believe this was where I would be living here on. Well, until I executed my runaway plan.
"Boss!" Mane came and hugged Vexon. "Finally you're back!"
After hugging each other, Mane looked at me and greeted, "Hello, Boss Lady!"
"Hi," I replied with a smile.
"How is the situation now?" Vexon asked Mane, who gave a fake laugh.
"Worse," as soon as Mane replied that the two of them exchanged looks. Only they knew what they were talking about because I was left clueless.
Vexon nodded after a while and the gate of the mansion opened. All the guards started greeting us, so I smiled at them politely.
We were walking for around fifteen minutes and still didn't reach the mansion. Vexon was talking with Mane while walking, whereas I was looking at my wristwatch repeatedly.
I did look around the garden though. It had an open space and was totally clean. There were different plants, flowers, walkways where we were walking right now and two roads which led to the garage, I assume.
We could have just used the car, I sighed. Oh, my poor legs!
Finally, we reached the entrance of the mansion. But the way we were welcomed was not what I expected.
"Vexon fucking Bevine! You asshole!" Cason yelled as he approached looking like a balloon ready to burst anytime. When my eyes fell on his hand, immediately a gasp escaped from my lips. He had a gun, which I was familiar with.
Vanera, Kace, Orson, Kendrik, and Pearl were running behind him, to stop him. To say I was shocked would be an understatement.
How the heck are Kendrik and Pearl here?
But it was too late for my mind to digest things. Cason already pointed the EDC X9 Wilson Combat on Vexon's head.
Well, I loved to do research on guns, just for self-defense. If someone pointed it at me, I could know what type of gun it was and act accordingly.
"Cason!" Vanera screamed but it was futile.
I froze in my tracks.
What the hell was going on?
"Cason, kill him already!" Kendrik instigated, earning a punch from Pearl on his stomach. He winced.
Orson was as shocked as me. He was standing next to me, watching the scene a teenager shouldn't.
"Cason, put it down!" this time Kace spoke, but it was unsuccessful.
I looked at Vexon. He was glaring at Cason, earning glares from him in return. They looked like they were already murdering each other with their eyes.
"You bloody inhuman! You suck!" Cason cursed, still keeping the gun on Vexon's forehead.
Vanera was about to interfere but Vexon shook his head.
"You suck, too," replied Vexon, earning a punch from Kendrik on his jaw.
"Ouch," I squealed softly, making Orson glance at me.
"What the heck?" Vexon yelled but it was too late. Cason and Kendrik, both were on top of him, already beating the shit out of him. I closed my eyes but peeked a little every time.
My heart clenched seeing the fights. I just hated fights. That's when I noticed Pearl's grey eyes looking at me. Giving me a pitiful smile, she approached me.
"Ruby!"
Damn! She was so loud. With her voice, the fighting stopped though it was not her intention. She literally jumped to hug me.
"Ruby!"
I was gasping for breath but managed to smile when she hugged me.
Oh, how much I missed these hugs! But how come she was here?
"I'm so sorry! I wasn't there when I was supposed to be. We know everything." She thought she said that softly which was only audible for me, but all heard it clearly.
"We need to talk about this, Vexon Bevine." Kendrik glared at his brother while he was erasing blood from his bleeding lips.
"What's there to talk about? He's a fuck" Vanera cut off Cason with her cold voice.
"I dare you to finish that sentence."
Pearl finally released me, before pulling me inside the mansion. "Let me show you!"
I was about to trip with the sudden pull. "Careful, Ruby," I heard Vexon's concerned voice before he followed Kendrik and Cason.
I entered the mansion and oh my! I knew this was eternal bliss. But it was so elegantall white and classy. The furniture was well furnished and all the servants were only bothered about their work. They didn't do extra thingsI meant gawking at me.
"So, what do you think?" Pearl's excited voice echoed through the mansion.
"It's beautiful." I was admiring the house. "We need to talk, Pearly. What happened to your one month honeymoon?" I asked when this thought hovered in my mind.
"We can catch up later," she whispered.
"Ruby, dear!" Vanera hugged me. "I'm so sorry you had to see this. I thought this wouldn't happen if we sent you somewhere else. But then again. Who can control the Bevine tempers? They will be fine, soon," she explained as she released me from the hug and looked at me with her green eyes.
Now I knew what Vexon was warning me about. That scenario. Did he get much hurt?
Shake it off, Ruby!
"Ruby, I missed you!" Orson let out, making me chuckle.
"I can't say the same, I guess."
He glared at me with his green eyes but chortled nonetheless.
Kace approached me. He gave me a side hug, which I gladly returned. "Welcome to the Bevine Mansion, sis."
I could never forget how Kace and Orson tried to save me from the wrath of Vexon. I would always owe them.
Soon, Vexon, Kendrik, and Cason came all beaten up, as if they were fighting for a long time. The shirt Vexon was wearing looked all messy, including Kendrik's face and Cason's T-shirt.
"Nice appearance all," I sarcastically said, earning a glare from them.
Cason came up to me with a sad look. "Ruby, if I was there, I would have never let that happen to you and" I cut him off.
"I know. But don't worry. All is well." I smiled softly, but he could sense the pain beneath it as he just nodded and got upstairs.
"And here I thought I'll protect you as my sister," Kendrik murmured but we all heard him. Sighing in disappointment, he went towards his room, leaving an awkward silence.
"Alright, enough drama. Pack up, pack up." Vanera clapped her hands, trying to lighten the environment. "They need rest. All, shoo!"
I suppressed my smile when I heard the word shoo.
Vexon didn't fail to notice it though. With a small smile on his lips, he held my hand, leading us to our room. Pearl gave me a nod before she walked in the same direction as Kendrik went.

I was literally tired after walking those stairs.
Seriously! Don't they have a lift?
It was like so many stairs. My legs would die today. I was sure of it.
"How many more?" I asked, trying to grasp my breath as I put my hands on my hips.
"A few more." Vexon was walking beside me but I stopped.
"You are saying this for the previous ten minutes!"
"This time, I am speaking the truth," he answered, sensing my annoyance.
"If it isn't, I'll" I paused when I noticed that the stairs phase was done. A big grin automatically appeared on my face in happiness. But the happiness didn't last long when I saw the long hall, after crossing the stairs.
"Please tell me the first room is our room," I almost begged him, glancing at the door just after the stairs. Then I looked in front of me, the long hallway, having plenty of rooms, like a hotel.
"No," he answered, making me frown.
I breathed out, "No?"
Oh my! I have to walk more!
"This is my room." He gave his familiar chuckle which seemed cute to me, before opening the white door. I glared at him but did a happy dance mentally. We were on the third floor of the mansion.
"Welcome, Gem." He stood outside after opening the door, waiting for me to get in. I got in and looked around.
The room was black and white in color, which made me happy.
There were a few black couches on the right side, though there were curtains around it. It was like a small living room. It had white carpet beneath.
The white king-sized was in the middle, having a black carpet below. The television was in-front of it.
The dressing table was on the left side of the balcony. It was fully the combination of black and white, which I just love.
But one thing caught my eyes. Where was the closet?
"The washroom door is beside the dressing table. You will find a closet room at first, once you open the door," Vexon informed me, clearing my doubts.
I walked towards the washroom door and opened it. Indeed there was a total dressing room, with closets at first. It was arranged having different sections which included watches, handkerchiefs, shoes, colognes, etc.
I saw a blurry mirror door and opened it, thinking it would lead me towards the washroom. It did though. There was a sink and everything.
But it didn't have a jacuzzi. Plus, where were the body products?
"Open the white door," Vexon hollered and I looked around for a white door. That was when I noticed one at the corner and opened it.
Once I opened it, I could see the white jacuzzi in the middle. There were shelves where all the body products were arranged neatly.
I couldn't help but grin.
This was the type of bedroom I always wanted. It was a pure dream come true moment for me.
"Ruby! Your clothes are arranged in the closet if you didn't know. You can take a shower at first," Vexon said aloud so that I could hear him.
A big grin evolved on my lips.
I took out a long white skirt with a black top, including my undergarments from the closet, and heated the water.
Taking my chocolate body products near the table of the jacuzzi, I started taking my warm bath in peace. It felt heavenly and I didn't keep an eye on the time.
