Chapter 21

Daddy stared at the computer for a long time.I fell asleep by his side without realizing it.

When I woke up, Daddy was still watching.

A video clip of a conversation between me and Mommy is playing on the computer."How did you and Daddy meet each other?" I asked Mommy curiously .

Mommy smiled and touched my head, "We were destined to meet each other." I didn't fully grasp her words.

Mommy told me to be brave and not to fear.

She said she would always protect me even if she became wind or rain.

I fell asleep in her arms after this conversation.

Later, Mommy looked tired and sad in the video. She seemed to talk to someone unseen but I heard no sound.

She fell from the bed, tried to call someone, but was quickly hung up on.

She typed a message then lay down exhausted.

He exerted all his strength to tuck me in and touched my face. Finally, she collapsed beside me.

Unaware of it all, I slept peacefully in the video.

It is strange that we saw Mommy saying something but there was no sound in the video.Daddy tapped the computer frantically but it was futile.

I realized that it may be those words I heard in my dream, "Daddy, I know what did Mommy say."

Daddy turned to me instantly, "Luna, what did she say?"

I tried to recall, "She said, 'It's not the right time. My daughter is only three. Give me some time to arrange things.'"

"And Mommy said she regretted falling in love with Daddy."

Daddy was shocked by these words. He doubted me at first, "Luna, are you sure? You're so young. How could you remember so clearly?"

I looked firmly at Daddy, "No, Daddy, I remember. Mommy really said that."

After a long silence, Daddy picked up Mommy's phone and started checking it.

I don't know what he saw but I saw Daddy's tears fall.

I had never seen Daddy cry before. He can be that sad for Mommy too.
