AGREEMENT
"You wanted to talk, so talk."
"Susan, how are you?"
"Is that what you want to tell me? You might as well leave."
"No, I wanted to tell you what happened that day."
"I know what happened, and I don't want to hear it," she said, trying to
get to the door.
"Debby tricked us."
"What?"
"She didn't want us together. I told her everything that happened. I knew she hated me; I just didn't know why you would be friends with someone like that."
"Well, we're no longer friends."
"Seriously, why? Is it because you
found out the truth?"
"No."
"She was sleeping with my
boyfriends."
"Did you just say, boyfriends?" I nodded.
"Like two?"
"Yes."
"Wow, how do you do them?"
"It's like a threesome, Susan, don't tell me you haven't had a threesome yet?"
"Of course, I did," she said.
"You're lying."
"No, I am not."
"Yes, you are."
"How do you even know I am lying?"
"Come on. You always look down when you lie."
"I hate the fact you know me so much."
"Well, I don't, see Susan, have thought about us, a lot. And I want us to try again."
"You want me to be your girlfriend? I thought you liked boys now?"
"I thought you did as well."
"Yes, I do, and I have a boyfriend. No, not just a boyfriend; he's my fiancée. We'll be getting married right after high school, I think."
"Oh, so that's a no then."
"Yes, it is a no."
"Do you love him?"
"What kind of question is that? Of
course, I love him; he's my fiancée," she says, staring at the ground. I went closer to her.
"I hate it when you lie to me, Susan."
"I'm not lying."
"Yes, you are. Will you go out with me?"
"I just told you, I have a fiance, and you're still--" I kissed her, which shut her up. "What was that for?"
"Like you didn't like it."
"Please don't--" I kissed her again.
"Stop doing that, Alex." I held her hips.
"So, does that mean you'll go out with me? I missed you, Susan, and I want us to talk and work things out.
I still love you, but if your fiance makes you happy and he's the one for you, I'll stop," I said, removing my hand from her hips, but she held it.
"I would love to go out with you, Alex. It's just that..."
"It what? You know you can tell me anything."
"Yes, I know, but we can't be seen together, even if we're, my parents won't call off the deal."
"What deal are you talking about? My and Jason's parents signed a contract. They want us to be married so they can acquire more wealth from their business.
Have tried to stop them, you know, but they won't listen. It's stupid, you know, that's the reason why I have been sleeping around, thinking they would change their mind about it, but they're so adamant to marry me off with Jason.
We don't want it, Jason is in love with someone else, but he can't be with that person because of this. He thinks he's indebted to them for taking care of him, and I have tried everything, but it's not working."
"Well, I have an idea. Why don't you marry me instead?"
"What did I just tell you? I can't without my parents agreeing."
"Hear me out, how about we merge our companies?"
"I still don't get you."
"Your parents need their business to be bigger, and my father wants me to take over his company. So why don't we offer them this deal, I will marry you, and we will merge the company."
"You're the one taking over the company, right?"
"Yes, I am."
"What about your brother?"
"My brother refuses to run the company. He said it's not his calling, whatever that means."
"Do you want to run the company? Last time, you said you wanted to be a writer. Has that changed?"
"No, it has not. I still want to be a writer, it's my dream to be a famous writer, but I don't know. I can't do what I want if I become the owner of the company."
"At least your dreams are coming true. I mean, you've always wanted to boss people around, and it's coming true."
"Yeah, I can't believe he will let me run his company, you know."
"Why not? You're his little princess."
"Am not his little girl anymore. He even trusts me with his company, me!"
"Come on, you're the best in handling his business, and your father trusts you and has faith in you to run his company. Did he just give you the company?"
"Yes, yesterday."
"Why are we not celebrating? Did you celebrate already?"
"No, I don't want to. I think he'll take the company away from me."
"No, he won't. Just believe it, I mean, you did give him ideas on what to do sometimes."
"That's true, but let's get back to the real matter. Will you go on a date with me?"
"I thought you wanted to talk about the contract?"
"The contract can wait, Susie. I want to take you out and get to know you more."
"What about the company and--"
"Stop trying to divert and just answer my question."
"What question is that?"
"Come on, how many times do you want me to ask you?" She giggled.
"Alright, Susie, my heartbeat, will you go out with me?"
"Trying to be cheesy as always."
"So?"
"Yes, I'll go out with you, but can it be in private?"
"Alright, my place today at seven."
"Today?"
"I need to go shopping, and… you don't need to impress me, Susie. I am already impressed by what you're wearing right now."
"Alright, enough flirting. Give me your house address and your number. And one more thing, how are you friends with the twins? I mean, look at them.
They are so gorgeous and all. Why are they your friends and not dating?"
"I'll tell you later, and just so you know, everyone is beautiful in their own way. Stop being jealous, Susie. I love the way you are. Don't let people tell you differently."
"But they are so perfect."
"Nobody is perfect. Look, the twins have gone through a lot, things you wouldn't imagine going through. Stop comparing yourself with them and try getting along with them, for me."
"B-but..."
"We'll be spending a lot of time in their house, so try being nice."
"Am always nice. Just one more thing, Alex, did you sleep with Addy?"
