FEELING
"She was in a coma for two months, Maddy. I made sure I went to see her every day until she woke up.
Maddy, do you know that Avery got pregnant after having sex with Williams? She knew her parents won't be able to take care of both of them, so she tried aborting it; she got so depressed and wanted to end her life.
I had to pay for their hospital bills, her parents were poor, her mother was a cleaner while her father sold fish, they already had two children that were in college, being on scholarship in our school was the best thing that would ever happen to them.
People started talking behind her about how she tried to kill herself and how foolish she was to abort her baby when she got out. Nobody felt pity for her, she tried reporting the matter to the principal, but he refused to listen to her."
"But why would he do that?"
"What do you expect, then? William's father was the mayor of this town, and nobody went against him. I gave them money to leave the place when everything was getting out of hand, they refused at first, but they knew they needed it. I am glad she's alright now. We kept in touch. I call her once in a while."
"I thought the people here were
nice?"
"Yes, most of them are nice, ever since William's father got killed."
"Really?"
"Yep. The suspect wasn't caught, but people were actually glad he was dead. The man embezzled money from this town. Did you know he was always hurting his wife? Williams never knew about it. When he found out, he made sure his mother divorced his father before he died. And guess what?"
"What?"
"Well, she's the new mayor in this town."
"Wow, really?"
"Yep, and she's so great, can't you see the way the people treat one another with so much love in their hearts? I think she affects people, and I guess no one wants to be on the wrong side."
"So, did Violet apologize to her?"
"Yes, she did, but Avery did not want to have anything to do with her, the girl suffered through depression for a year, but I am glad that she's alright now."
"So I found out the same day you did, when she told you, I thought she really wants to be friends with you, guess I was wrong. You know, my sister told me to be careful with her, that Violet may look nice in the face, but you don't know what's on their mind; they always have evil
intentions."
"I thought we would get along," I said, sighing.
"Why would she do that to me?"
"Well, I guess they got bored of doing simple bets; they wanted to bring it up to the way it was. You know, I stopped talking to her after she did that stuff to Avery. I was so angry, I didn't talk to any of them for five months.
Our family had to have a family meeting to bring us back together. I was so disgusted by what they did to Avery. I needed to forgive them since they were all I got, and I love them very much. I guess they thought since you're very beautiful, you would be the easier one to place a bet on."
"Why not my sister? You've got to be joking. Have you seen your sister?"
"What's wrong with her?"
"Well, she's hard to talk to, and she glares at us a lot, and she has this kind of dark aura surrounding her that says, "don't even think about it," I guess she scared them off, and you're the easy-going one. And you confirmed it to them when you flirted with Williams. They thought you would be an easy target.
Did you know they actually did it to Susan as well?"
"What!? Really? I thought she was your childhood friend."
"Yes, she was, but Susan left when she was nine. She went to England to stay with her parents."
"Well, that explains the accent."
"Yeah, when she got back, Violet thought it would be a good idea to place a bet on who she was going to have sex with first. She didn't know that Susan knew what was going on.
Susan made sure she slept with Jason when she found out that Violet had a crush on him.
She was angry, saying, "you know how can you be my friend, but you place a bet in me like I was a whore or something," so that was what started the whole thing about Susan being a whore and all, you know if you get to know her, she's actually nice, I guess Violet just made her not to trust anyone after what she did to her. I know Jason didn't sleep with her."
"But you just said…"
"I know what I said to Maddy, but I think they're hiding something. I just can't figure out what it is exactly. I think it was just a plan to get Violet off his back, but as you can see, it's still not working."
"So, you mean to say Susan actually
"stole" Jason from Violet just to make her jealous, or I still don't get it?"
"Well, yes, she did. I mean, Violet is a shy type. Like, how can you be in love with someone for, like, how many years and you've not been the one who told him? She kept saying it was not the right time, like, when the hell would the right time be? Look at me; even though I confessed to her at the right time, she still told me no. I think she's scared of rejection.
Maybe that's why she refused to tell Jason how she felt."
"It's not like you guys haven't told Jason."
"We did, but he didn't believe us since Violet has always been shy towards him, so he thought it was just a normal thing for her to do."
"Jason is just ignorant of the fact Violet likes him, then. I think he knows. He just doesn't want to date her," I commented.
"So you see, that was how Susan came in and stole Jason from her.
But we still don't know if that's real.
