Months after they sold Clara thinking she was sold to a hard life of slavery, the Coopers began living in affluence because of the money they earned that day, they were heavily paid by Luke, Alpha T's omega.
Cooper's Mansion
"Caleb, it's time we went for your check-up, the doctor said you need to come over for a shot of injections let's not waste any more time"
"I am coming honey" Caleb replied sharply from the room
That was Clarissa who was yelling from the sitting room to her husband Caleb about keeping to time because they were getting late for their appointment.
"Mom, I need some cash I need to head out to meet my friends"
Xander said to her mom since he knew that they had money to spare.
"Xander my cute son but of course what I have is yours, I'll wire you the cash you want to have fun" Clarissa told his son
And so she now has the means to care for her beloved children, but all of that happiness of selling off Clara, the joy derived, became sorrow two days later.
Alpha T's Beta and right-hand man Axel, came knocking at Cooper's door and entered the house to get back the money given to them by the omega Luke who was brutally murdered, and yet the merchandise which they paid for did not get to its destination but was retrieved mid-way so he did needed a refund that was why he was here.
"Good day Mrs. Cooper I am here for a business meeting"
"But of course, I am always open to new ideas. What is it?"
Clarissa asked, thinking it was a business proposal of some kind but it was the exact opposite.
"Well, I am here to collect the money you were paid by a certain Luke for a particular merchandise"
"Oh, I am not sure I know any Luke."
"Don't lie to me, ma'am"
"I am telling you the truth I did no business with any Luke whatsoever"
"Then what are these then?" Axel asked to bring out pictures of her bringing business proposals to Luke.
"Oh right I recall now, what was I thinking? Anyway, I sure did deliver the package to him, kind sir"
"Well, the package didn't get to the real owner of the merchandise, so if you know what's good for you, you are to return the money by tomorrow or I will kill you"
With that said, Axel stood up and went to the door then turned back and said "Do not even think of running away this night you are being watched" With that, he left the house and Clarrisa ran into her room locked the door, and started praying to whatever she hopes is listening after she had done such great evil.
Just then a knock was heard at the door of her room, she flinched so hard she thought the hard-looking and scary-looking man had come back to terrorize her more.
But it was only her husband who was at the doorstep, she opened up with scary eyes and shakily
"Caleb? It is just you, you scared me you know" she said holding her chest.
"Why would you be scared in your own house? Did something happen, Clarissa, you look worn out"
"Caleb, something huge happened, remember the notorious ruler in the East? The one I sold Clara to for the huge amount of money in our bank account?"
"Yeah, what about him?"
"He sent another man here and they are here to collect the money or they'll kill me"
"What? Oh no, why would they do that? We delivered the package. That's why they sent the other half to us. They can't do anything unless Clara isn't in their grasp. Or did he say anything about that?"
"He might have mentioned that she didn't get to the destination," Clarissa said shakily because she knows the repercussions of double-crossing the warlord
"What do we do now Caleb? We can't run away even if we wanted to, we are being watched, and doing that will put us in more danger and punishment" Clarissa said, holding onto her husband who had gotten way better over the few weeks since the sale.

"It's almost dawn, what do we do now? I can't lose you, Caleb, I can't die just yet"
"What about if we gave them back the remaining money? And plead for forgiveness?" Caleb said which irritated Clarissa the more
"Why should I? Why should I return that huge money that has brought you out of sickness? I better die instead. You are supposed to be the man in the house trying to fight for your right, but here you are cowering. Beg for forgiveness from who? The merciless Warlord of the East? Or from the man who openly threatened to get me killed today if I ran away or didn't refund the money? Beg forgiveness from who?" Clarissa knelt down and started crying Caleb cooper came close to her and was about to soothe her but she pushed his hands away and said
"Don't touch me, if you were rich from the beginning and didn't get sick or lose your job in an awful way and throw your family into poverty and ridicule, I would not have done this. I wouldn't have had to sell Clara off and be in this situation right now, so don't you dare touch me to soothe me because I don't need your pity. I have tasted riches because of Clara's parents and now she has brought money to me. I would not throw that away. Not ever again, I would rather die in riches than go living in poverty with an ill good for nothing husband. I love you, yes but sometimes you get on my nerves. Would you love or prefer to go back to being ill and become a laughing stock?"
"Of course not, how would I choose suffering over enjoyment? It was because of that that I accepted to take care of Clara Hudson in the first place even when we are struggling to feed ourselves and little Xavier. They gave us the mansion and bought us a car so we could offer their kid a comfortable life or did you think I'm some babysitter?" Caleb said.
"Then how do we tackle this, if he came back today then?" Clarissa said
"Am already here" Axel came into their house without knocking and was taking juice at the kitchen counter.
Clarissa saw this and thought
'If only I knew I would have poisoned that juice so that he'll die and we won't have to pay a dime
Reading her thoughts Beta Axel laughed out loud and said,
"Very dark thoughts coming from you ma'am, you want to poison me huh? I wish it were that simple to die, would have loved that seriously"
Hearing this she was taken aback that he could read her thoughts so she fell face down and began begging to be spared
"Please kind Sir, I didn't mean to think such thoughts, I am just desperate. I beg of you good sir please spare my life and that of my family please save us"
"I won't lay a finger on you and your family if you refund the money back just the way it was given to you."
"To be honest if it's refunding the money I can't do that, it's from the sweat and the blood we have on our hands, we just sold someone so we can't refund the money even if we die"
"Is that so, how about I kill your husband first, or better yet your stupid children starting with your favorite, Xander Cooper the most useless one?"
"How do you know about my family's name?" Clarissa asked surprised
"Hahaha, you think I know nothing? Anyways to think I would invest my time in a family I don't know anything about isn't it something ridiculous to you? It's time to end this. It's time you die"
"No no please sir, I beg you, why don't you take me instead?"
"And do what over there? Farm? Anyways now that you mentioned it, I can consider an offer"
"Yes anything but death please"
Just then Olivia came back from school she forgot her sports wear for extracurricular activities so she came back for it. Seeing her, beta Axel smiled and said
"She will do"
Axel said pointing at the girl coming in through the door and Clarissa saw it was her daughter, this hurt her so much. Seeing her mom on the ground and a strange man standing over her, Olivia got mad and started shouting at both him and her mom, her mom for kneeling down and the strange man for allowing such to take place.
"Mom? What is this? Why do you have to kneel in front of someone you are older than? If its money he wants give it to him this instant" she yelled at her mum and then turned towards the man in front of her, though he was huger than her she didn't care so she continued shouting
"And you, how dare you to ask my mother to kneel? You ingrate you stupid man I will sue you and take you to court you will be jailed for coming into someone else's house and asking her to kneel, you are invading our privacy"
Axel smiled seeing a little girl standing up to him, it was the first time he looked at a girl, and he immediately liked her. Maybe he will take her for himself. Who knows? That is if his Alpha allows him to. So he said to Clarissa Cooper, who in turn was lost for words,
"As I said, I changed my mind, I don't need the money anymore, and I will take her instead," Axel said pointing at Olivia.
"What the heck do you mean by that?" Caleb Cooper came out from the other room after hearing that Olivia his smartest child will be taken to the Eastern part to a life of slavery angered him.
"How nice of you to join us Caleb Cooper, who would have thought you will be man enough to face me?" Axel said,
"Well you can't take my daughter away"
"That isn't up for discussion old man, so stay out of it. I have no business with you but with your wife."
"Please she is my only daughter don't take her to take me instead and the remaining money if that's okay," Clarissa said
"Well well well, you must care for her how patriotic" Axel said
"Please, not her" Clarissa said still begging but Axel's mind was made up, so there was nothing they could do so he walked up to her (Olivia) and held her.
"I am not going anywhere with you, so don't even dare touch me you imbecile" Olivia stepped on Axel's foot but it didn't hurt. He was just mesmerized by the fact that she was feisty and he had plans for her.
Caleb came and hit Axel's head behind with a bottle but then it didn't hurt, humans are nothing.
He turned and punched him in the guts and his eyes changed color, Clarissa saw this she became scared
"No, no Dad, Mr. Please don't hurt him."
She attempted to run to him but was pulled back aggressively, and she grunted in pain.
Clarissa was too weak to say another word,
"Okay I will go with you but please let me say goodbye to my family, after all, I won't be seeing them anymore please," Olivia said amidst tears
"Fine go on," Axel said
With that, she ran and hugged her dad, planted a kiss on his cheeks, and said,
"Dad, I love you, please take care of mom and Xander okay?"
Just then Xander came saw a stranger in his house he paid no attention to him and moved past him a bit then he saw his mom on the floor her soul gone, her dad bleeding and hugging tightly onto Olivia, and saying,
"Forgive me, Olive I couldn't protect you, I couldn't make your dreams of becoming a lawyer come true, forgive this old man"
Immediately Axel began dragging her out of his arms because they were wasting his time.
"What on earth are you doing holding on to my sister like that?" Xander yelled at Axial
Axel didn't say a word instead, he let go of Olivia and walked up to him, and then scratched him deeply on his shoulder he groaned loudly in pain. He wanted to stand up and used his last strength to punch him but, he stopped as Olivia yelled at him
"No no big brother, please don't fight with him, he'll kill you please take care of dad and mum I love you Xander," Olivia said and she was dragged away and placed in a limousine and taken away.
Clarissa was distorted and began to regret the fact that she sold Clara off. If she didn't she wouldn't be in this situation right now. She kept looking towards the door, her only daughter gone just like that because of her greed.
All the dreams and aspirations she had for Olivia went down the drain in a blink of an eye and she couldn't do anything about it.
It's true what they say, what you want men to do to you do also to them.
Karma knocked on Clarissa's door and it took her daughter, and hurt her husband as well as his son. All because of her selfish desires, and her quest for power she lost her daughter just like that, and it's forever.
Everything changed for the coopers after that day.
Clarissa became broken, the money she made from the sale felt like she sold her daughter instead. She began cursing at herself, her family became broken. It fell apart totally, she no longer flaunts her wealth like she used to. She became a distorted woman, her husband Caleb became a nutcase because of the issue as well. He lost his own daughter because he was poor and broke.
He just couldn't fathom the fact that he would no longer see his little girl anymore. He was torn apart, he began wishing he had died instead and blaming his wife for this.
He couldn't forgive his wife or himself, mostly himself. He prayed for death to come but it just wouldn't, the ones he did all of these for, the only child who had dreams and aspirations in his house and family have been taken away. He scurried into Olivia's room and locked himself in there.
While Xander entered his room and was groaning in pain there. He was really hurt.
'Will he truly never see her again, till his dying breath?' Thoughts like that filled Caleb's mind.
Clarissa became a living corpse, with no emotions whatsoever. Her daughter whom she loves deeply is taken. She began living in shambles, there is money but yet broken, alive but dead. The fact was the Coopers became unhappy. They've lost one of their own.
