Hearing her say that made my heart beat hard in my chest, it made me kind of happy.
After that, a knock came, and I said in my usual domineering and cold voice.
"Come in Eric"
Eric came in to give the daily report as always.
"Report Beta"
"Alpha you are needed at the training ground"
"Training?" Clara asked with confusion
"Okay will be right there"
With that said Eric, left after bowing to my Luna in making cause I knew that wasn't for me after which he left the room. He never bows to me that's how troublesome and disrespectful he can be to me
"Can I come along?" Clara asked
"Um not really because we will be training in our other form I don't want you to be terrified."
"But I want to see"
"Maybe next time"
"Fine, so you mean I am cooped up in here"
"Come on I am doing this for you, you are yet to regain yourself, and I will never forgive myself if something else happened to you. I won't be able to think straight if that happens so please listen to me for once will you?"
"But Liam I...."
"No buts just stay indoors, next time you will watch us when you are fully recovered, I promise. For now, just focus on being better okay?"
"I don't want to be alone in here send for Gabe"
"Fine Gabe will come to you"
I am more confident in Gabe now cause he really looked out for me last night since she holds him in high esteem, and he cares for our relationship, having him over wouldn't hurt. It would be best for her if he came over.
With that said, Liam left for the training ground.
Gabe's POV
Today is Clara's birthday and no one knows about it. I bought no gifts for her. She must really be upset and alone, this will be her first birthday without her family. I think she is far better off here than anywhere else. I must find a way to make her day happy, I need to look for a way to make this day a happy one for her so that she doesn't think about what had happened the previous days. It's a great thing seeing her alive, cause I can't imagine how I would have felt without her here. She is my only childhood friend and the sister I never had.
I need to make her lighten up a little, today is her day so I have to make it special for her. She may not be with her family, but her new family is here.
I need to involve Liam in this plan of mine because I can see he truly loves her. The way he brought her back home that evening showed how much he was really scared of losing her. Am sure he has no idea today is her birthday and if he finds out I knew and didn't let him on my plans he is going to be mad at me which I don't want. So I better ask for his help so that we make this day a special one for Clara. His help could come in handy.
Just then Eric knocked on the door and said the Alpha was calling for him. So he left in search of him.
He (Gabe) found him getting ready for training in the training ground.
"Alpha Liam, you called for me?"
"Yeah I did, my mate wants to see you. So remember do not cross boundaries"
"Okay I won't, she is more like a sister and friend so be rest assured whatever affection we may show is an honorable one, Alpha."
"Good that's what I want to hear from you, you can head up now I can feel her eyes boring holes on me, she may pester you to bring her down here. Don't do that okay, she may shudder to see the transformation and it won't be good if people saw their Luna be, being afraid of her future packs may cause an uprising. And I don't want to deal with that. She must be strong enough to face this new life ahead of her so until she can do that, we need to watch her closely okay?"
"Okay Alpha. But there is something, one more important thing I want to tell you"
"Get on with it, what is it you want to say?"
"Today is Clara's birthday. She is turning 19 today. I just want to make her day special quietly and since you are someone who cares about her, I want you to be a part of it"
"Thanks, Gabe for letting me know about this, I think I may know just what to do to make her happy today, let's make some plans. How about you act like you have no idea today is her birthday?" Liam is now happy with Gabe and opening up to him about what should be done to make her day a special one.
"Okay, since she keeps peeking at us, I better go into her. And act like we aren't planning anything a little big for her day. If I act like I don't know today is her birthday she may figure out I am hiding something. She knows me like the back of her hand, so I will just head straight to the kitchen and collect a cup of orange juice for her and wish her a happy birthday cause if I don't she may hang me before you come to my rescue. I have never forgotten her birthday no matter what" They both laughed out loud.
Liam then brings up another suggestion,
"Okay, let's do this when am through with training I will tell the maids to make a big cake for her then you get her your gift, and since she wants to go out, I will take her somewhere only I know about"
"Cool, that's a great plan. I hope she will truly forgive you this time. Just so you know, I am rooting out for you both"
"Thanks, Gabe, I appreciate it. You better go in there"
"Alright then, get to work."
Gabe left and went straight into the kitchen below to get a cup of orange juice like he had planned earlier and went upstairs to check on Clara.

Knock... Knock There was a knock on the door to the room Clara was staying
"Yes come in Gabe, I know it's you"
"Hey, Clara wow!! What a beautiful and spacious room it is, I love the décor"
"Gabe I was seriously waiting for you, and you completely ignored me to talk to Liam huh?"
"Come on, you know that isn't true... Look I brought you a cup of orange juice, why don't you sip on it now? It's really waiting for you to..."
"Okay, then I will," Clara said, still angry, and collected the glass cup from him and took a sip after which Gabe said.
"Happy birthday, Clara"
"Awn I thought you had forgotten about my birthday"
"Of course not, why would you think that? Clara, I would never forget about a special day like this"
"Thank you, Gabe, for always being there," Clara said and hopped into Gabe's arms.
"Always Clara always"
"But come to think of it," *Clara said disengaging from the hug* you brought just an orange juice for me on my birthday?"
"Ha ha you are really something else aren't you, and here I was thinking we were having a moment just a while ago"
"Moment huh funny so what are you going to get me this time?"
"The usual of course orange juice but to make it more special, this time I'm going to add candy to the list," Gabe said chuckling
"Are you mocking me right now?" Clara asked pouting
"Mocking you, why would I do that? I would never promise, how can I mock my birthday girl on her birthday?
"Stop acting like that, I know you are teasing me" Clara attempted to hit Gabe but Gabe was fast enough to dodge it and this led to a chase.
They both started running around the room, Clara was running after Gabe hoping to catch and spank him. Gabe is running away for his dear life, he may be a wolf now but he was a human first. Since the room was big they were able to run freely.
"Come here you idiot, stop running will you?"
"Hey I have to run for my life you know, come catch me if you can"
"Is that a challenge, don't you worry, I will catch you today and when I do, I will so deal with you Gabe I assure you"
That was how they were playing until they ran out of breath and decided to play a board game. Because whatever she orders, she gets. Today is her day after all, so whatever she says goes unless it's not something too extra of course.
So Clara decided they play board while on it, Liam came in with just pants sweating profusely from the rigorous training sections he just had with his men.
Seeing him like that walking towards them made Clara's heart start beating fast.
He is well muscled, tall, cute, and handsome, someone too special to keep on the leech cause he is someone every lady would want to die for just to have him touch them.
'That's some cute abs, nice ass. Lovely long legs, those strong muscles ruffled hair, soft hands, oh man, I could have them run over me all day' thoughts like this filled Clara's thoughts that she had no idea what Liam just said. Not until Gabe touched her that she came back to reality from her wild imaginations.
"What?" Clara yelled at Gabe startling both him and Liam
"He was just asking how you are feeling no need to yell at me," Gabe said
"Fine" Clara said to answer the question she couldn't listen to.
"I better go wash up I'll be right back," Liam said, excusing himself from their presence, and headed straight to the bathroom.
"Why did you yell?"
"I didn't you just thought I did"
"Oh no, I am imagining things isn't it?"
"Yeah"
"Saw you staring at his bare chest," Gabe said in a whisper
"What? No way, why would you say that?" Clara said, pouting.
"See, you are blushing I caught you, I better go down and leave you two love birds alone, so I can prepare your orange juice and candy" Gabe laughed teasing her and she attempted to hit him again but he ran off.
