Clara opened her eyes slowly after hours of sleeping due to the incident that happened.
She looked up and what she saw was a big bright chandelier above her that was when she became aware that this isn't her room.
After remembering how she was caught, she quickly jerked up, quickly assessing her environment, and saw that she was in a king-sized bed. The room was beautiful and well decorated it's a home for royalty. But this wasn't what she was interested in right now.
Where could she be? Who could have brought her here? By chance could it be her abductors? Oh no and someone even changed her clothes, oh no could it be that she was still sold to the Far East and no one was able to rescue her?
While she was looking around with all anxiety.
The door to the room she was in opened slightly, she then decided to feign her sleep. Maybe if she did that, she could escape and run to Gabe's place. If she could ever find her way out of here.
The person who opened the door came towards her to the bed, rather than come close he went round to the other side of the king-sized bed and laid down instead. This move put Clara on high alert so she waited for some minutes, with the hopes that the person was far asleep, so she could silently sneak out. She slowly got out of the bed as gently as she could, after sighting that the door was not completely locked. So she tiptoed out to the door and ran down the stairs.
"Clara?" A voice came up behind her and it was a familiar voice, it was Gabe, her best friend. She couldn't believe it, she thought maybe she was hallucinating again. She quickly quickened her pace and started running off. So Gabe went after her and said
"Clara it's me, Gabe"
"Gabe, is that really you?"
"Yes, Clara it is me" Clara then moved closer to him and touched him just to be sure he was real.
"Oh, Gabe it really is you" She immediately clung to him and gave him a tight hug.
"It's so good to see you again, I thought I would never get to see you, Gabe, thank you"
"Oh Clara, I am glad you are okay, I was really worried about you. Am so sorry I wasn't there by your side when you needed me the most. I am so sorry I wasn't there to rescue you from your wicked parents. Forgive me, dear"
"Why are you sorry? You were still able to rescue me from them, thank you, Gabe. Thank you so much for not giving up on me, it must have been really hard. But how did you find me? I kept calling but you weren't picking up where were you?"
"Am glad you are safe, but I wasn't the one who saved you from your abductors Clara someone else did"
"How is that? Who?"
"It's Liam, Clara. He saved you and brought you to his home"
"How is that possible? I never told him I was being sold, so how come?"
"I think it's better if you hear it from him instead"
LIAM'S POV
When I brought her home that night, seeing her with bruises on her arms made me mad, I wanted to go back and rip that omega apart once more. But she still had the jewelry I gave her around her hands. Meaning she values it more than the others, seeing her with it made me happy that she still thinks of me. I wish she didn't have to be terrified by my other self.
Her clothes were tattered so I had to change her clothing. I didn't want anyone to see her body, so I changed her clothing myself. Her skin is so soft, I want to rummage my hands through it, but I don't want to take advantage of my mate. The lovemaking should be done voluntarily. Even though Cole is fighting to come out, he just has to chill and wait. Waiting is the best thing to do right now.
She stayed that way for almost 24 hours. I opened the door to the room, and that was when I noticed she was awake fully now but feigning her sleep, she is so adorable. So I decided to play along and see how it plays out. I slightly opened the door, in case she wanted to escape and I was right. So I walked to the other side of the bed to act like I had fallen asleep too. She waited for a few minutes hoping I'd fall asleep by closing my eyes. After a while I felt some movement in the bed, she was trying not to wake me up. She came down from the bed successfully and headed for the door. Ha-ha, my mate can be really sneaky. She had been asleep for hours and now she finally wakes up only to sneak out? It's really quite hilarious to watch.
I went out to the balcony to see where she was running and then I saw Gabe running after her. Then I enhanced my hearing to listen to their conversations since she ran a little farther away from the house but I can still see them. I saw my mate hugging another guy so tight in front of me, I was so enraged I thought I warned Gabe not to be too smoochy with Clara. She is my mate for goodness sake, instead of Clara being in my arms as soon as she wakes up, she is in the arms of another this is so messed up. I feel like punching this dude. I was beginning to like him but seeing him holding onto my Luna like that is too much for Cole and me to handle. I really need to put a stop to this. But then again, I need to calm down and listen in on their conversation they looked like they are really discussing something serious.
His words during the conversation made me realize that Gabe wants Clara and me to fix things between us. I was kind of glad. But then Clara kept on talking and hearing her say such made me really bitter and heartbroken that she my very own mate will say that about me.
"No Gabe Liam is a monster, I am scared of him okay?"
"What do you mean you are scared of him? I am like him too, remember? Why aren't you scared of me as well?" Gabe said.
"Because Gabe, you and I have always been together and I trust you. Seeing him like that day made me terrified, I can't trust a person who's lied to me"
"What about me? I lied to you as well about the same thing yet here you are talking to me, why can't you just forgive him as easily as you did me?"
"Gabe, why are you so adamant about forgiving him? Did he put you up to this, tell me."
"Clara this isn't you, and no he didn't put me up to this. It's coming from my heart, listen to me Clara, and just listen. I was hoping I told you about it, but I was scared that if I did you would view me in a different light. But Liam was confident that you would love me for who I really am. So he talked me Into telling you about myself, he said he will open up to you as well so that even if you hated us for it we would be free from the guilt that fills our hearts so I decided to open up to you because he talked me into it. He couldn't bear lying to you about his other self, he is a very nice and kind person whether you believe it or not."
"But still how can I fall in love with a monster?"
"Clara, you aren't listening to me are you? Just wait will you and after this revelation let me know if you still view him as a monstrous being. Okay?"
"Okay, am listening"
"Good. When you were calling me, I didn't know my phone was ringing. It was in silence because I went to meet my alpha alongside my parents. We had something of great importance to discuss, that's why I didn't get to see your text quicklybecause cell phones aren't allowed in the pack house for a whole bunch of reasons that's why you couldn't get to me those years I was away. So while we were discussing, My Alpha excused me from the meeting because he had something to discuss to the ears of my parents alone. So I stepped out for a bit and took my phone out of its hidden place, that was when I saw your missed calls, I tried calling you back but it wasn't going through which is very unusual. I then saw your text, it was then I knew you were in danger. So I rushed back in to tell my parents about it. They were dumbfounded, especially mum, she didn't expect your parents would do such a cruel thing to you. They brought suggestions but none was good enough, not until I told my Alpha that you were alpha Liam's mate did he come up with a good solution which was me going to Alpha Liam's town to give him the news, though it was far with the help of a magical box I was able to get here in time to deliver the message to him. I showed him the text and he left in less than seconds to find you. I wanted to go with him but he said no, that I should wait for you here and watch over his pack for him until he returns back with you, Clara. He left his pack's safety to a stranger which was against the rules all because he wants you home. He couldn't let you be sold to the eastern warlord because you are his mate, the love of his life, the one fated to be with him. So Clara, don't you ever call him a monster, he brought you back safe to me. Else I would never have forgiven myself if something bad had happened to you. So never call him a monster you hear me? He went through a lot to find you, while I was here hoping and praying he gets to you before you reach the Easterners' territory else there is nothing any of us could have done to bring you back home. So do me a favor, if you have ever treated me as your friend forgive him even if he did nothing wrong in telling you the truth about himself even if he did nothing wrong to warrant such hatred from you, forgive him, Clara. Cause I don't know who on earth would sacrifice a lot for someone he barely met months ago like he did, you."
Hearing Gabe's words about me to her made me somewhat emotional that I had to go back to bed. It touched my heart knowing he views me that way.
