That night, Leander laid me down on the bed and leaned close.
His body was burning hot, and his voice was low and husky as he whispered into my ear, "Indra, this time you don't have a choice."
My cheeks flushed as I looked at him through the dim light.
His presence overwhelmed every one of my senses.
He removed his glasses and kissed me.
His eyes glimmered with desire, the corners lifting slightly in a devilish smile.
...
I was exhausted and sleepy, letting him dry my hair for me.
When he turned off the hairdryer, the room fell into silence.
"The things you love, I'll love too. I don't hate being photographed anymore," he said.
I stared at him for a few seconds and laughed.
"I always thought it was a waste for someone as handsome as you not to be in pictures."
The next morning, I woke up and reached under the pillow for my phone.
When I aimed the camera at him, his eyes fluttered open slightly.
He pulled the blanket down, revealing his toned abs, his voice teasingly seductive. "I remember you like taking photos like this?"
"Who said I liked that?"
I realized he was referring to the photos I had taken of Sebastian.
"Are you jealous?"
Leander hummed in affirmation. "When I saw those pictures, I knew I had to come back."
After a moment of silence, I asked, "How were those years abroad?"
"They were fine," he said softly. "Except for the part where I went mad missing you."
...
I never expected Leander to take me to watch the sunset.
The convertible was parked at the mountaintop.
His hand rested on the steering wheel as he gazed at the fiery sunset sinking into the clouds.
Turning to look at him, I asked, "Shouldn't we be watching the sunrise? Why the sunset?"
"You can't get up in the morning, can you?" he replied, his lazy smile tugging at his lips. "If I don't sleep well, how can I sleep with you?"
I suddenly didn't feel like talking to him anymore.
Instead, I turned to watch the golden light spreading across the clouds. The sunset was beautiful too.
Leander leaned over, taking my hand.
In the next moment, a diamond ring slid onto my ring finger.
Perhaps fearing I'd take it off, he clasped my hand tightly in his.
"That day you asked me if we'd make it to the end."
"Back then, I never thought I'd spend my life with anyone."
"But later, I realized that as long as you'd have me, I'd want to spend my life with you."
His eyes reflected the faint light as he asked, his voice low and hoarse:
"Indra, will you marry me?"
I nodded. "Yes."
