Someone walked in, and there I was, sitting properly on the couch. The system was spot on—it wasn't some muscle man after all.
It was a skinny, yellow-haired man in tight pants and sneakers, and a fat guy.
When they saw me sitting there, looking fine, they froze for a moment, then cursed. "Didn't those women say she's been drugged?"
"Don't worry, this woman's too pretty. We hit the jackpot." Both of them grinned, revealing their yellow teeth, and leered as they walked towards me. I almost couldn't resist slapping them.
But then I hesitated, not wanting to get my hands dirty.
"Don't be scared, little sister. We're gonna make sure you enjoy it."
To be honest, I didn't want them near me at all, but the act had to go on.
Just as they were about to close the distance between us, the suite door was kicked open. At that moment, I pretended to faint on the couch.
The person who entered was Percival.
"Laylah." He called out, his movements swift and decisive. In just a few moves, he took both of them down to the ground.
"Take them away. I'll deal with them myself." He ordered to someone behind him.
Then he walked up to check on me. Since Emery wasn't here yet, I had no need to keep pretending. I let myself relax, pretending to be unconscious.
By the time he picked me up and Janetted heading for the elevator, we ran into Emery, who had come looking for me. Seeing that he was too late, his eyes turned crimson, and he blocked Percival's path.
"Give her to me."
"Why should I?"
Sebastian didn't bother with any more words. He waved, and the bodyguards behind him restrained Percival, allowing him to take me from his arms.
I could hear Percival's furious voice behind us, cursing at Sebastian. It wasn't until I was in Sebastian's arms that I let the system lift the suppressant on the drug. Instantly, my body felt like it was being burned, a heat that was unbearable. I instinctively leaned toward Sebastian.
"Everyone involved in this tonight will not be able to escape."
My consciousness gradually became hazy, like the first wave of passion. In my dazed state, a thought suddenly crossed my mind.
I messed up.
With the drug and the desire, I couldn't suppress the ears and tail that were now showing. The divider in the car slowly rose, and Emery pulled me tightly into his arms.
"Jennifer, why can't you ever let me feel at ease?"
My awareness was already clouded, and I couldn't discern what he was saying. All I could do was nuzzle closer, seeking a kiss. But the system in my mind was sweating coldly.
Because Jennifer was my real-world name.
