Upon hearing my words, Sebastian Everleigh's anger seemed to dissipate somewhat, replaced by panic. "When did you find out?"
I removed his hand from my shoulder. "I just found out not long ago."
Sebastian asked, his voice shaking, "Did Alexander tell you?"
I shook my head. "I guessed it. Alexander said your car didn't lose control suddenly, but that you intentionally crashed into the barrier, didn't you?"
At the mention of Alexander, Sebastian went mad, unable to hear anything else. His voice broke, "You still believe him, not me! You don't trust me!"
"You never trusted me either, Sebastian."
I gazed calmly at him when suddenly I heard a buzzing noise in my ear.
"Host, I've finally made contact with you. After the last attempt failed, would you like to reset?" It was the system, which I hadn't heard from in a while.
I momentarily spaced out, and the system asked again: "Would you like to reset?"
At that moment, I saw Sebastian suddenly step back. He was clutching his hair in agony, his voice choked with emotion. "Yes, after I realized the brakes failed, I decided to crash into the barrier, to get myself injured and gain your attention."
He suddenly collapsed to his knees, his face filled with sorrow. "I saw you preparing the divorce agreement, marking off days on the calendar, counting down the time until you leave me…"
"I don't want a divorce. I don't want you to leave me. Leave… this world."
The last words caused me to widen my eyes in shock. I could hardly believe my ears.
"What… what did you say?"
Sebastian looked at me with a heart-wrenching gaze, his eyes red and teary, as if he would cry any second. "On our wedding night, I had a dream. In it, I was the hero, and you were the villain, marrying me just for an alliance, only to fall in love with another man."
"I didn't believe it at first, thinking it was just a dream, but as I slowly fell in love with you, I realized you were cold toward me, but not to Alexander—you like him."
