While he was lost in his wild fantasies, I raised my hand and slapped his forehead lightly, my tone calm, "We're not doing anything today."
Then I bent down to pick up his clothes from the floor and said, "Don't strain your vocal cords. I'll discuss it with brother and find an expert to treat you."
Sebastian Everleigh glared at me, gesturing with his fingers, "Why are you involving my brother?"
I answered, "To treat your vocal cords."
He frowned slightly, "Why him?"
I replied, "He's a doctor."
Sebastian Everleigh took a deep breath and suddenly took a step forward, pointing at his chest and then his throat, implying, "He's a cardiologist and can't help me. Don't ask him."
I looked at Sebastian Everleigh in confusion. He seemed to dislike mentioning his older brother, Alexander Everleigh.
But Alexander Everleigh was the only relative who treated me like family, aside from him.
When Sebastian Everleigh ignored me, Alexander Everleigh would send me gifts to comfort me. After I showed visible marks from his actions, he'd buy me ointment to remove them.
I felt warmth from him, but I only considered him like an older brother.
After a moment, I nodded and agreed, "I understand."
At that moment, the butler knocked on the door and said from outside, "Young Master, Secretary Lee has arrived. He's here to take you to the company."
Sebastian Everleigh put on his suit and adjusted his hair, then turned and took out his phone to type.
Then, my phone in my pocket rang. I looked at him, and he stared back at me. I quickly took out my phone and saw his message: "Stay at home and don't go anywhere."
After sending Sebastian Everleigh off, I returned to my own room.
After our marriage, we usually slept in separate rooms. I would only go to his room when we needed to have marital relations. On most days, he wasn't home, so I would sleep in the room next door.
I closed the door and sat down at the desk, trying to wake up the system, but it didn't respond.
Had Sebastian Everleigh's accident caused me to miss the opportunity to leave this world?
I felt a bit regretful, but that regret slowly faded as I was stunned and intrigued by hearing Sebastian Everleigh's inner thoughts.
Before the next opportunity to leave arrived, I wanted to see if he truly loved me, or if I was just a replacement for the real heroine.
