Three years of marriage, and my obsessive husband has never told me he loves me. I became disheartened and, together with the system, decided to end the mission.
However, an accident caused his vocal cords to be damaged, and he may never speak again.
On the day I decided to leave, I suddenly heard his inner voice.
[She doesn't look at me, doesn't scold me... she's really leaving.]
[What can I do to keep her? If I break my legs, will she feel sorry for me?]
While feeding him medicine, I dropped the cup in shock. He reached out and gestured, "Do you want to burn me alive?"
His inner voice cheered, [Burn me alive! If you do, you won't ever leave me, babe..]
---
I looked up at his striking yet emotionless face, a slight frown forming. The 'endgame' had probably begun, and I was just hearing things.
I ignored it, picked up the cup, and stood up to apologize, "Sorry, I'll ask the butler to bring you new pants." Sebastian Everleigh's face was flushed, weakly leaning against the headboard, gesturing, "I need you to help me change." I shook my head, refusing, and walked out of the room. The butler was nervously standing outside the door.
I told him to get new pants for Sebastian.
Less than half a minute later, the butler was kicked out.
"Madam, the young master refuses to change. Perhaps you should go and persuade him."
I hesitated for a moment, handed the cup to the butler, and turned to go back into the room.
Sebastian was sitting on the bed, holding the edge of the bed with both hands, gasping for air. I said, "You still have a fever. Lie down quickly."
Sebastian suddenly raised his head, his eyes red, glaring at me with anger. It was as if he was saying, "Why did you come back?"
I didn't understand why he was angry, but calmly said, "I know you hate me. Get well soon and divorce me."
Upon hearing this, his eyes reddened even more, and his fingers quickly gestured, "So, you really want a divorce!"
I froze for a moment. Isn't it you who want to divorce me? I was never the woman he truly liked, but I occupied the role of his wife.
