Chapter 6

　　Her parents had arrived to pick up their precious daughter, Evelin Blevins, who was carrying the heir to the Gentry family.
　　Evelin immediately put on an act, sounding soft and wronged as she said, "Mom, Dad, Genesis has been bullying me!"
　　She even pointed to her elbow, which had the red marks from my pinching.
　　I started to explain, "Mom, Dad, Evelin was spreading rumors at school that I was pregnant. I just grabbed her and—"
　　Before I could finish, my dad angrily cut me off. "Genesis, Why can't you ever listen? I told you not to upset Evelin!"
　　My mom also frowned and glared at me. "You useless thing! If I had known you'd turn out like this, I would never have had you!"
　　Those words hit me hard, leaving me speechless with a tight feeling in my chest.
　　Evelin looked at me smugly, her eyes filled with pity and disdain.
　　I didn't bother to explain any further. Family bonds like this were revolting.
　　I just wanted to leave this house.
　　Back home, as I opened the wardrobe to pack my things and leave, suddenly, a thought crossed my mind.
　　When I had come back with them, it wasn't because I expected the love of a father or mother that I had never received. So, why was I angry about it?
　　Was I jealous of Evelin?
　　I shook my head. That kind of person would only dirty my eyes.
　　As for these hypocritical, power-hungry parents... do I really need them?
　　The answer was clear: No.
　　I felt a sense of clarity. I grabbed my pajamas and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
　　After the shower, I felt even more clear-headed. I couldn't leave now. They had already smeared my reputation so much. If I left now, wouldn't that make it all true?
　　So, I decided I wouldn't let it go.
　　This family will never have peace again!
