Chapter 4

　　I pulled the blanket up for him. "Mr. Schwartz, have you ever read any of those novels like 'The CEO's Runaway Sweetheart' or 'Running Away with the CEO's Baby'?"
　　Killian looked confused. "What kind of stuff is that?"
　　Out of kindness, I sent him two books and patted his shoulder. "Take a look at them first. If you're still sane later, we can talk about it."
　　The next afternoon, Killian found me.
　　His handsome face was filled with frustration: "Patricia, there was a collaboration meeting at the company today, and it was clearly Lorena's fault for mixing up the contract version."
　　"But when the other company's representative said a few words to her, I ended up throwing them out of the company and declared we'd stop the cooperation..."
　　This definitely sounded like a typical CEO move.
　　Killian looked puzzled: "Am I crazy? This was clearly her mistake. Not to mention just saying a few words to her, she should have been fired!"
　　"I didn't think that way at the time, but the words just came out of my mouth uncontrollably!"
　　I sighed. "What I'm about to say may sound ridiculous, but it's all true."
　　...
　　After I finished explaining, Killian still seemed to be processing: "So you mean, this is a CEO romance novel? Lorena is the female lead, and you're the secondary female character who can't get the guy?"
　　I nodded.
　　Killian laughed in disbelief: "Absurd! This character setup is just too ridiculous!"
　　I scratched my head. At this point, he was focusing on the character setup? What a peculiar angle.
　　Killian lowered his gaze: "Patricia, we've known each other for so long. I'm a real person, not some puppet from a novel."
　　I nodded. "So, what are you planning to do now?"
　　"Let this damn plot die, and I'll do what I want." He gazed at me intently, his handsome face growing closer.
　　A warm, soft kiss gently landed on my lips.
　　Before I could react, we heard Lorena's scream from the door: "What are you two doing?!"
