Chapter 36

　　The moment Billy lunged at me, I dodged, but I couldn't avoid Minna.
　　She was dirty, with zombie blood all over her, and it smelled horrible.
　　Fighting back a wave of nausea, I pushed her away. "Don't touch me."
　　Minna looked hurt, her arms still clinging tightly to me. "Mia, are you still angry with me? What happened before was a mistake. I was out of my mind and didn't know better. I'm truly sorry now. We're biological sisters. Can you forgive me, for the sake of our bond?"
　　Billy wasn't about to be outdone. "That's right, Mia. I know you're the kindest person. You wouldn't hold a grudge against us. This hotel is amazing. Now we don't have to live in fear anymore. We can stay together happily."
　　I couldn't help but notice Frederick's aura grow colder as Billy finished speaking.
　　Curious, I glanced at him, only to see him turn and enter the holographic simulation training room, leaving behind a cold and distant figure.
　　I pried Minna's fingers off me one by one, my face expressionless. "If you're here to stay, you don't need to live in fear anymore. But stop trying to connect with me over sibling bonds or past relationships. I have no feelings for either of you."
　　Minna froze, her face turning sullen.
　　Billy, on the other hand, was more adaptable. With a sigh, he gave me a pitiful look.
　　"So, Mia, you don't love me anymore? Does that mean all the promises we made to each other mean nothing?"
　　I almost gagged.
　　"Billy," I said, my voice icy. "I once thought you were different from the others, that you could fill the love my parents owed me. But you hurt me even more than they did. When you and Minna sold me to those men for three loaves of bread, we became enemies. Allowing you to stay here is already my limit. Don't push it."
　　Without looking back, I walked away.
　　The next day, I heard some big news:
　　"Frederick is unbelievable! He earned more points in half a day than everyone else combined!"
　　"He must've wiped out the entire simulation chamber. It's terrifying. Who knows what set him off yesterday afternoon?"
