Honestly, I felt a little embarrassed listening to all these compliments.
I quickly touched my face, forced my smiling lips to relax, and said seriously:
"Emma is in charge of accepting applications for those who want to join. Of course, the hotel automatically verifies the qualifications, so if you're trying to bluff your way in, don't bother. On the other hand, those applying to be store clerks can sign up directly with me, as I'll personally handle the selection process."
As soon as she finished speaking, a number of young people stepped forward enthusiastically to apply, including Alaster.
With a bright smile, he said eagerly, "Mia, you turned me down last time, but now that you're short on people, there's no reason to reject me again, right?"
I didn't even spare him a glance. "Sorry, but I have no intention of rehiring anyone I've already refused."
Alaster's smile froze instantly. "Why?"
"I told you before, your abilities are very strong, and hiring you as a store clerk would be a waste of your talent. Perhaps you should consider applying to be an instructor instead."
But Alaster stared straight at me, a shadow briefly crossing his eyes.
After a moment, he sneered, "Got it."
...
"Boss, bad news! Alaster took Emma and Mike outside!"
I was flipping through the check-in records at the front desk when Cindy came running over in a panic.
I raised an eyebrow, remaining calm. "I know."
Cindy blinked in confusion. "Huh?"
I explained, "Did you think they'd leave with Alaster so easily without my permission?"
Still, Cindy looked a little worried.
Half an hour later, Emma and Mike returned unharmed, but Alaster was nowhere to be seen.
I greeted them, "Is it resolved?"
"Yes, boss, you're incredible. As you predicted, he tried to strangle us, triggering the employee protection mechanism, and he got ejected," Mike replied.
"And then?"
"Then we warned him not to act recklessly. He glared at us and ran away, and we added him to the paradise's blacklist."
"Alright, noted," I said, closing the ledger and standing up to leave.
Emma hesitated before asking, "Boss, aren't you afraid he's still alive and might come back for revenge later?"
I waved dismissively. "What's there to be afraid of? Within the paradise, we're completely safe. It's not worth worrying about."
In fact, this matter ranked lower in importance to me than exploring the newly unlocked buildings in the paradise.
