Chapter 25

　　I sighed and tried to comfort him. "I'm not great at consoling people, but you know how cruel the apocalypse is. Surviving makes life even more precious. So you have to live well, at least until the day dawns when the world sees light again."
　　Jeffrey stared at me, his tear-streaked face filled with determination.
　　He suddenly grabbed my hand tightly and said earnestly, "Mia, I have a feeling that the light you're talking about might already be starting to shine."
　　"What are you two talking about?" Frederick's voice interrupted, his gaze briefly flickering to Jeffrey's hand on mine.
　　After some time at the resort, Frederick had regained a bit of his former appearance, shedding the worn and weary look of the apocalypse. His fair complexion and handsome features were once again apparent.
　　Seeing such a good-looking man put me in a cheerful mood, and I couldn't help but smile. "Just talking about the resort."
　　"Hmm. It's getting late. When do you plan to head back?"
　　"How many people have checked in so far?"
　　As I stood up to check, the system's alert sounded in my mind:
　　"Ding! Congratulations, Host. Task completed, rewards have been issued."
　　"New Task: Recruit guests from three bases. No restrictions on the bases or the number of guests. Rewards: Unlock three hotel buildings with all rooms, unlock the entertainment complex with all facilities."
　　I rubbed my chin thoughtfully and asked eagerly, "System, what kind of food will the dining complex offer? And what about the entertainment facilities?"
　　The system replied, "The dining complex includes but is not limited to hotpot, barbecue, and skewers. The entertainment complex features but is not limited to a cinema, computer room, and bars."
　　"Wait," I interrupted, eyes wide. "Computer room? Does that mean there's internet?"
　　"The resort has internet access."
　　"Holy crap."
　　If the system had a physical form, I might've hugged it and kissed it right then and there.
　　"Mia?" Frederick's voice brought me back to reality.
　　I quickly responded, "I'm not heading back to the resort just yet. Are there any nearby bases? I need to continue promoting the resort. You'll be in charge of the guests who've checked in so far."
　　As I was about to leave, Frederick stopped me. "I'll have my team escort the guests to the resort. Wherever you're going, I'm coming with you."
