I chose a relatively crowded spot, cleared my throat, and began reciting the promotional pitch I had prepared earlier.
After introducing the resort, I quickly drew the attention of a curious crowd.
"Young lady, is what you're saying true? Could such a place really exist in the apocalypse?"
"She's probably bluffing. If it's so great, why share it with us instead of keeping it to herself?"
"But look at how clean she is. She really does seem to be living well."
"She's just a fragile little girl. Could she really manage such a place? I'm finding this hard to believe."
Faced with their skepticism, I wasn't in a hurry to explain. Instead, I said:
"I'll be here for half a day. Feel free to ask me anything. Whether or not you're willing to take the risk is entirely up to you."
By lunchtime, I was starving after two hours of driving. Reaching into the system-provided backpack, I pulled out a bottle of milk.
The backpack was one of the system's rewards—a spatial storage item that allowed me to access the hotel's supplies directly.
Many people had been covertly observing me. When they saw me pull out milk, their eyes widened in astonishment.
But I didn't stop there.
Reaching back into the backpack, I retrieved a packaged meal from the hotel cafeteria.
As soon as I opened the container, the aroma wafted through the air, making their mouths water.
The enticing smell attracted even more people. They stared hungrily at the meal in my hands, their eyes lighting up as I picked up a piece of beef, followed by a fried chicken.
"Oh my, is that beef she's eating?"
"She can actually eat meat and drink milk in the apocalypse. Does the food in that paradise really taste this good?"
"Is that pasta? I haven't had it in so long, I've almost forgotten what it tastes like."
They couldn't stop swallowing hard, their gazes practically glued to the food in my hands.
Of course, in a crowd like this, there were bound to be a few with malicious intentions.
Spotting my slender frame, a group of thugs approached, clearly intending to snatch my meal.
