Elsa lost it completely, yelling, "Cody, do you have any conscience left? I've been kicked into the water by Katie, and instead of helping me, you're here sweet-talking her!"
Comments:
"I'm dying of laughter. The mental gymnastics of this scumbag are truly unpredictable."
"Haha, can we get a calculation of the female supporting character's current psychological trauma?"
"The female supporting character really shot herself in the foot. The scumbag obviously hasn't gotten over the heroine, but she should definitely give up on him now, haha."
"She deserves it!"
I responded, "Cody, don't overthink it. Elsa tried to frame me by making it look like I pushed her into the water, but Evan taught her a lesson." I glanced at Elsa struggling in the lake, "Aren't you going to save her? She looks like she's about to drown."
It seemed like Elsa's legs had gotten tangled in the weeds, the more she struggled, the deeper she sank, and her cries for help were growing weaker.
Cody, looking impatient, took off his suit jacket and jumped into the lake.
"Let's go."
I linked my arm with Evan's and walked into the bright lights, not bothering to look back at them.
Evan casually remarked, "Cody is really infatuated with you now."
I playfully sniffed him and teased, "Why do I smell jealousy?"
Evan took my hand, openly admitting, "Yes, I'm jealous."
His gaze was cool as he scrutinized me, "You've been with him for years, your feelings must run deep. Now that he's clinging to you, will you go back to him?"
I intertwined my fingers with Evan's and replied, "Why would I go back? Haven't you been good to me? I want to walk the rest of my life with you."
"So cheesy. It's cold outside, let's head in."
Evan turned his head, but the slight redness of his ears betrayed his feelings.
Three months later, I got engaged.
Another six months passed, and Evan and I got married.
While I was getting my makeup done, I received a call from one of Cody's friends: "You need to come take care of Cody. Because you're getting married today, he drank all night and ended up with a stomach hemorrhage. He refuses to see a doctor. If this keeps up, something bad will happen."
I responded coolly, "I'm not a doctor. What good would it do if I went?"
"Cody refuses to see a doctor. He'll only listen to you. Please, sister-in-law, help him out."
I sneered, "Don't call me sister-in-law. Isn't your idea of a sister-in-law Elsa?"
On the day Elsa returned to the country, she posted about Cody picking her up.
The ones who congratulated her on social media were Cody's friends.
How ridiculous.
At that time, I was Cody's legitimate girlfriend.
Yet Cody's friends were secretly wishing for him and Elsa to be together soon.
Now that something has happened to Cody, they suddenly remember me.
The other side went silent.
