Recently, the company's shareholders have been calling me a debt collector.
Those who sided with my father had their assets thoroughly investigated.
They were nearly stripped of everything.
Helena was putting all her effort into smearing me.
The negative news stayed on the hot search list for several days.
I even secretly bought more publicity for her.
Helena called me. "Skye, apologize to me, and I'll let you go."
A few days later, I released the chat records between my father and Helena's mother from years ago.
I personally tagged Helena.
"From illegitimate daughter to young miss, fun, huh?"
Public opinion exploded.
"Isn't she supposed to be a stepmother? She really was a mistress who took over the position?"
"The tables have turned, indeed!"
"Skye's classmates say that Helena used to call Skye a bastard often."
"Oh my god, and there's the crown prince of the Stewart Group, who was supposed to be engaged to Skye, and then he got mixed up with Helena."
"They're both cut out to be homewreckers."
Helena's mother's affair was a secret that everyone in the circle tacitly acknowledged.
As long as it wasn't blown out of proportion, people didn't pay much attention.
Now, with the scandal raging online, the Stewart Family immediately proposed to cancel the engagement.
Helena was stunned.
She couldn't understand why so much evidence suddenly appeared.
And there were all sorts of leading statements.
This was the first lesson Auntie taught me: public opinion can be manipulated.
My father, who had just recovered, fell ill again from anger.
Auntie said, "Try to be filial in front of your father. If you can hasten his death, it would save me some worry."
I knew my father didn't like me.
But he couldn't think of any other options.
Helena and her mother were like a hopeless case.
If the company were handed over to them, my father might not even be able to breathe.
Calvin had been coming around me a lot these past few days.
One day, as soon as he entered my office, Helena followed closely behind, leading her friends and scolding me.
"Sister, you're married. Why are you trying to seduce my boyfriend?"
"Have some dignity. You bullied Helena since you were kids, apologize to her now."
It was the same familiar scene.
They wanted to wage another battle of public opinion.
Calvin sat in the corner, silent, becoming invisible.
I was furious and grabbed Helena by the hair, dragging her to Calvin. "Come on, hit him."
"Why would I hit him? I want to hit you."
I laughed. "Your man can't control his own legs and comes running to me. You don't slap him, but you want to slap me? Bully the weak and fear the strong?"
Helena raised her chin, wanting to berate me further.
I slapped her, snarling, "Slap him! If you don't slap him, I'll slap you!"
Helena was stunned and turned to cry to my father to complain.
Calvin remained seated. "Skye, I've endured all these years without touching you, you should understand—"
"I understand, you can't perform, get lost."
After saying that, I had the security guards throw Calvin out as well.
