Jamie hadn't yet responded when Sara walked out of the main room.
The two fell silent immediately.
Sara bowed slightly to Grandma Lorelei. "Thanks for the help, Nana."
Grandma Lorelei, noting Sara's forced smile, shot her grandson a sharp look before cautiously asking, "Are you okay? Jamie can be a bit impulsive. Don't mind him..."
"Haha, Nana, nothing happened," Sara laughed, but it looked more like she was about to cry. She thought to herself, it wasn't your grandson acting impulsively, it was me who almost acted on impulse with your grandson. She didn't even dare to look at Jamie expression right now and just wanted to get away from that tempting garden as fast as possible.
She touched her belly and laughed awkwardly, walking out. "Oh, I'm so hungry. Nana, you came at the perfect time.Thank you."
Grandma Lorelei looked at Sara's awkward gait and wanted to say, "You don't really look like everything's fine."
but decided to let it go. "It's no trouble at all. If you're hungry, let's go eat at my house."
Jamie trailed behind them, his gaze lingering on Sara's stiff back. He couldn't help but chuckle softly.
Grandma Warner turned around sharply, glaring at him and mouthing, "You better watch yourself!"
Jamie thought to himself that next time, he would make sure not to get interrupted.

During the meal, Sara kept her head down, barely touching her food and eating quickly.
Grandma Lorelei exclaimed several times, "Oh, my baby, slow down! No need to rush."
In the midst of this, Sara had already finished a bowl of noodles. She quickly swallowed and said, "Thanks for the meal, Nana, I've got some stuff to take care of, so I'll be heading out."
Grandma Lorelei couldn't insist she stay, so she advised her to take care as she left.
From the moment Sara arrived until she left, it took less than five minutes. After she was gone, Grandma Lorelei turned to Jamie and said, "I don't think you stand a chance."
Jamie remained silent, smiling to himself. After finishing his meal, he went to his room and took out his phone.
He couldn't help but smile as he opened the pinned chat.
The screen was filled with "Message deleted" notifications, roughly a dozen of them.
He adjusted his glasses and slowly typed a question mark.
After sending it, he drummed his fingers on the back of the phone, watching as the typing indicator appeared almost instantly. His smile grew wider.
A minute passed, and the typing indicator disappeared, but no message came through. Jamie had expected this. He put on his headphones and tapped his phone, initiating a voice call.
Sara answered quickly but remained silent. Jamie could hear her nervous breathing and kindly broke the silence. "What did you delete?"
Sara's voice was small and uneasy, "Just... some random stuff..."
"Really?" Jamie's voice was slow and deliberate. "I thought you were explaining why you wanted to kiss me."
There was a sudden silence, followed by a loud crash. Jamie guessed that she had dropped her phone.
After some rustling, her nervous breathing returned, followed by her stuttering voice. "I-I-I wasn't trying to kiss you. I just... saw your mouth was dirty and wanted to clean it!"
