And so, Aria began her tedious pregnancy journey. She regretted getting pregnant so soon. There were so many things she couldn't do or eat. The Harrison family even hired a nutritionist to prepare special meals for her.
This routine continued for six months. When her college reunion came up, Aria saw it as a chance to escape her parents' overprotective watch. She eagerly agreed to go.
Her dorm leader came to pick her up. "How did your family let you out?" she asked, shocked at Aria's presence.
They all knew how strict the daily routine Aria was put on by her family. Even her meals were customized.
"I'm expected to graduate, get married, and then get pregnant, without any freedom to live my own life," she said. Aria replied, buckling her seatbelt. "Where are the others?"
"They're already there," the dorm leader said, patting Aria's belly. "I can't believe you're the first one to become a mom."
"Actually, the campus beauty is the first. I saw her pregnant when I met my old crush at the hospital," Aria said, recalling the encounter.
"The campus beauty? She doesn't even have a boyfriend. How could she be pregnant?" the dorm leader asked, confused.
"I saw her with my old crush, Jason, and her belly was quite big," Aria explained.
"Jason? No way... They’re dating?" the dorm leader exclaimed.
"Yeah, didn't you know?"
The dorm leader thought for a moment, then slapped her thigh. "There were rumors in the group about Jason breaking up with his girlfriend. It was because his family paid her off. So it was for the campus beauty!"
"Really? That's crazy."
"You have a baby on your belly. Maybe you shouldn't go. I have a bad feeling about this," the dorm leader suggested, worried.
Aria hesitated but decided it was too late to turn back. "Let's just go. I’ll leave early if it gets weird."
When they arrived, everyone was surprised to see Aria's belly. "Wow, you’re fast!"
Aria didn't mind and proudly patted her belly. "Yep, it is a bit fast but ok," she said, smiling sweetly, earning playful groans from her friends.
Jason's gaze lingered on her belly, his eyes filled with an odd light. Aria's dorm mates noticed and shielded her from his view. Feeling uncomfortable, Aria excused herself to the restroom.
When she emerged from the restroom, Jason was waiting for her. "Fancy meeting you here," Aria forced a smile.
"It is not actually. I was waiting for you," Jason said, his tone serious.
Aria was speechless.
It all feels a bit too familiar, as this used this tactic to Jason back in college.
Only now, the person saying these words has changed.
Aria felt Jason a bit strange in this lifetime. "What do you want?"
"You might not believe this, but I’ve lived another life before this one..." Jason began.
