Chapter 46

　　"Do you not like this unexpected child?" Aria's joy at becoming a mother was overshadowed by her concern for Nathan's feelings. If he didn't want the baby, it wouldn't receive the love it deserved. She'd rather not have it at all.
　　As Aria spiraled into her thoughts, Nathan chuckled softly and pinched her cheek. "It is our child. How could I not like our child?"
　　"You said you didn't want kids in the beginning, and when I thought I might be pregnant, you were so gloomy. Even when the results came out, you didn't smile," Aria confessed. She had been considering an abortion if Nathan truly didn't want the baby. The mere thought of it made her eyes well up with tears.
　　Seeing her genuine fear, Nathan's heart ached. He pulled her into his arms. "I used to think no kids meant more time for just us. But this is our baby, a product of our love. How could I not want that?"
　　"I was worried about you jumping around these past few days. And coming back from our honeymoon, I was afraid it might have harmed the baby. I didn't smile because I was too overwhelmed with joy to show it properly."
　　"Honey, now that we have a baby on the way, how could I not want it? I already love our child so much," Nathan whispered, his voice soothing Aria's fears.
　　Tears streamed down Aria's face as she quietly cried. "I love you so much."
　　"I love you more," Nathan replied, kissing away her tears. The salty taste didn't bother him at all.
　　"You scared me. I was so afraid you wouldn't like the baby," Aria admitted, her cheeks flushing as she playfully hit Nathan's chest.
　　"It’s my fault. Don't be mad," Nathan said, holding her hands tightly.
　　"Hmph," Aria pouted, leaning into his chest. "This baby is a real surprise. We took precautions."
　　Nathan's face turned a bit red. "There were a few times when I got too excited and... didn't use protection."
　　"How come I didn't know?" Aria asked, puzzled.
　　"You always faint at the hight of it."
　　"Oh... okay."
　　The parents, overhearing the conversation, felt a mix of relief and awkwardness. Leonard was shocked to see this side of his brother but was quickly pulled away by their father.

　　When Nathan and Aria returned home, the family pretended not to notice their private conversation and began discussing Aria's care. Both mothers insisted on taking turns looking after her, making Aria feel overwhelmed.
　　"You don't have to take care of me so soon. It's still early," she protested.
　　"We must!" the mothers insisted firmly.
　　Aria turned to Nathan for support, but he also nodded. "I'll feel better if they help take care of you."
　　With no escape, Aria reluctantly accepted their care. "But what about the wedding?"
　　"We will do it after the baby is born," Nathan said with a smile.
