Chapter 45

　　Leonard gave Aria an unexpected look. "I can stay handsome forever," he said, slightly vain.
　　Aria held up one finger. "I still think you should go for those films."
　　Leonard nodded. "Alright, movies it is. But I'll still keep singing as my main gig."
　　With their conversation over, Aria noticed her husband's blank expression.
　　"Nathan, why are you spacing out?" she said sweetly.
　　"Aria, your thoughtfulness towards my brother is making me jealous." Leonard joked.
　　Nathan shot him a glare, then stepped on Leonard's foot hard.
　　"Ow!" Leonard winced in pain.
　　Nathan scoffed, then said to Aria softly. "Nothing serious. I'm just thinking about business."
　　Seeing his softened demeanor, Aria smiled and took a big bite of steak. But suddenly, she felt a wave of nausea.
　　"Ugh... I need to go to the bathroom," Aria said, rushing out without waiting for Nathan's response.
　　The parents were concerned. "What's wrong with Aria?"
　　"I don't know. I'll check on her," Nathan said, following her.
　　Leonard mumbled around a bite of steak, "Maybe she's pregnant?"
　　Though said offhandedly, the parents' eyes lit up at the possibility. The mothers quickly stood. "We'll check on her."
　　In the bathroom, Aria washed her face. She found Nathan looking at her with concern. "Are you okay? Was it the steak?"
　　"I don't think so... maybe I just have an upset stomach," Aria replied, pale-faced.
　　"Maybe we should go to the hospital," Nathan suggested.
　　"No, I'm sure it’s fine," Aria began, but the mothers arrived, eyes bright with hope. "Aria, when was your last period? Has it been delayed?"
　　Aria didn't understand why they were asking but calculated her dates. Nathan frowned as he listened.
　　"I think I'm three days late," Aria admitted, her eyes widening as she realized the implication. She glanced at Nathan, who seemed expressionless.She wonder if he has also guessed it.
　　"Go to the hospital! Now!" the mothers declared in unison, dragging Aria along despite her protests.
　　Nathan remained silent during the drive, and Aria's heart pounded with worry. 
　　Was he angry about the possibility of a baby? Afraid that he get angry due to he didn't want her to get pregnant, Aria's mood also dampened.
　　At the hospital, after a series of tests and a long waiting, the results confirmed she was pregnant. The mothers were overjoyed, the fathers excitedly smoked, and Leonard was stunned by the coincidence of his casual remark.
　　Aria nervously watched Nathan as he asked the doctor, "Will the baby be okay after all the intense physical intimacy in the past few days?"
　　"Yes, the baby is healthy. Just be careful from now on."
　　"Thanks."
　　Observing his look when he inquired the doctor, Aria took his hand and led him out the door, finding a secluded spot and then posed her question.
