Aria and Nathan stood outside the doctor's office waiting. Seeing Nathan still looking upset, Aria leaned in closer. "Are you still jealous?"
Nathan turned his face slightly, avoiding eye contact with Aria.
He was very concerned about this old crush. Initially, it didn't seem like a big deal. But now, it really bothered him. Especially the way that guy looked at his wife—it didn't seem like it was just Aria having a one-sided crush; it seemed like he liked her too.
Nathan regretted not investigating thoroughly. If this man really liked his wife, he wouldn't have let them meet!
"You look handsome even when you're angry!" Aria stood on her tiptoes and kissed Nathan's cheek.
There were still quite a few people around, and now all eyes were on them. This made Nathan's face turn slightly red.
He pulled Aria into his arms tightly. "Don't move around."
"If you keep getting angry, I'll want to kiss you." Aria looked up, her mouth forming a smile. Seeing Nathan's shy look, her heart melted.
She found out many new sides of Nathan after living a second life.
"Encountering someone you used to have a crush on, how could I not get angry?" Nathan said openly.
"That was ages ago. The one I have a crush on now is you." Aria took the chance to confess.
In her previous life, not long after marrying Nathan, she stopped thinking about that old crush. This time, it was even less of an issue. If she left such a good husband to chase after some old crush, she would be out of her mind.
Aria felt that her rebirth was meant to make up for her past mistakes with Nathan.
"Anyway, you had a crush on him," Nathan said, still somewhat resentful despite her confession.
"If you get jealous over that, then every time we're out, and girls keep staring at you, shouldn't I be drowning in jealousy?" Aria hugged his chest.
Nathan's looks attracted a lot of attention wherever they went.
Having a handsome husband did come with some pressure.
Fortunately, she wasn't unattractive herself, so she could match him.
Nathan lowered his head slightly, looking at Aria's earnest eyes. He sighed, "Fine. But I don't want to see that old crush of yours again, and you shouldn't meet him either."
"Alright, alright. I promise!" Aria nodded quickly.
After they had reconciled, the doctor called them in. They did a full day of check-ups and found that everything was fine.
Aria finally breathed a sigh of relief. If there were no problems, they could have a baby.
On the way back, Aria repeatedly made Nathan promise not to take those pills again.
"Honey, honestly, it doesn't matter if we have a child or not," Nathan said, exhaling a sigh as they drove and stopped at a red light.
"Why don't you want a child?" Aria was puzzled. "You promised me you would give me a child."
She clearly remembered Nathan saying that to her last time. Although she was exhausted then, she remembered it clearly.
Nathan pressed his lips together, silent for a moment, then lowered his long lashes and said with a hint of grievance, "If we have a child, your attention will be on the child, not on me."
"Huh?" Aria thought she had misheard.
"We just got married. I haven't had enough time to love you. I don't want an outsider taking away your attention," Nathan said firmly.
