Chapter 36

　　When Nathan returned, he saw a bowl of somewhat clumpy noodles on the table. The problem was that his wife was eating them with great relish.
　　Aria looked up from her bowl with a bright smile when she saw him. “Nathan, you're back?”
　　Her mouth was shiny with oil, as if she was eating something other than spaghetti.
　　“It looks like the spaghetti you made are really tasty,” Nathan said, setting his briefcase aside and sitting across from Aria. He glanced at the bowl of spaghetti in front of him.
　　Hmm, too much oil. And there was a strong smell of pepper.
　　Nathan picked up his fork and stirred the spaghetti before lifting a strand to his mouth. The overwhelming taste of pepper combined with a rich flavor of various seasonings.
　　“How does it taste?” Aria asked, her face full of expectation.
　　Nathan put down the fork and took both bowls away. “Too much pepper isn't good. I'll make you a new.”
　　“Huh?”
　　“You'll get a stomachache,” Nathan said, ruthlessly dumping the spaghetti into the trash.
　　Aria had actually eaten most of hers already. She thought the spaghetti tasted pretty good. How could they cause a stomachache?
　　But since her husband said so, she could only slap the table with her hands. “I want an egg too. Can you cook one for me?”
　　Nathan smiled indulgently. “Sure.”
　　When the spaghetti were ready and on the table, Aria looked at the bowl garnished with scallions, a poached egg, and slices of meat.
　　Wow, just look at this presentation. It looked very appetizing.
　　“Can you still eat?” Nathan asked, a slight smile playing on his lips.
　　Aria nodded eagerly. “Yes, I can.”
