When they arrived at the county clerk's office, Aria saw a long line of couples stretching all the way to the entrance. Her eyelids twitched.
In her past life, there hadn't been this many people. Why were there so many now?
With such a long queue, how long would it take for her and Nathan to get their certificate?
“Do you think we’ll get our certificate before noon?” Aria stood at the end of the line, feeling a bit disheartened.
If she had known, she wouldn’t have bothered with makeup and just come straight in her outfit.
Nathan stood beside Aria, pulling her close to avoid the crowd of couples who had already gotten their certificates. “Don’t worry, we’ll get our certificate before noon.” Nathan was in a great mood, his smile making him look even more handsome among the young couples.
Several women noticed Nathan and kept glancing his way, making their boyfriends glare at him.
Nathan remained indifferent, only showing a gentle expression when he spoke to Aria.
As the line moved forward, Aria grew more excited, her joy and shyness as a new bride evident.
She held Nathan’s hand tighter and tighter.
By 10:30, it was finally their turn.
“Bride and groom, look this way.”
Aria flashed a perfect smile, leaning on Nathan’s shoulder.
Click.
...
Sitting in the passenger seat, holding her marriage certificate, Aria giggled, “I’m finally married to Nathan again.”
“Stop laughing, or you’ll become ugly.” Nathan’s voice came from beside her.
Aria huffed, “Even if I’m ugly, I’m still your wife.” She waved the red certificate, “See, we just got it.”
Nathan found her proud little look adorable. When they stopped at a red light, he quickly leaned over and kissed her firmly on the lips.
Aria, startled by his boldness, glanced around for traffic cameras. Seeing none, she sighed in relief but still gave Nathan a reproachful look, “How can you be so bold? We’re in the car.”
Nathan nonchalantly replied, “Someone is seducing me?”
“I did not!” Aria snapped.
“I never said you did.”
Aria’s face turned bright red again.
She angrily turned to look out the window, ignoring Nathan.
Nathan found her little temper tantrums utterly endearing, absolutely loving her even more.
When they arrived at a hotel, Nathan unbuckled his seatbelt and pulled Aria into his arms, “This is perfect.”
“What is?” Aria pouted.
“Such an ugly person finally become my wife.”
Aria glared at him, “You!”
Before she could say more, he kissed her again.
Why did he keep ambushing her like this?
As they got lost in their kiss, there was a knock on the car window.
Nathan, reluctantly breaking the kiss, saw a security guard standing outside.
Aria’s face was bright red again, but she remembered the windows were tinted, so the guard couldn’t see inside.
However, she didn’t realize the front windshield was transparent, and the guard had been watching them for a while. Finally, he decided to knock to remind them.
