Valentine’s Day had arrived, and the world seemed to be filled with the scent of love. Some single people consciously hid at home, trying to forget what day it was.
For Aria, it was a slightly nerve-wracking day. She held her valid ID as she slowly descended the stairs, her mother’s eyes filled with expectation.
Today, she dressed very casually, knowing she would need to change clothes for photos. In her past life, she had worn a beautiful long red dress with her black hair flowing down.
However, at the county clerk's office, they had a backdrop for taking marriage certificate photos, and Nathan had dressed casually so he could change easily. But it was inconvenient for her. The staff suggested she just take the photo as she was, but she insisted on dressing up. In the end, Nathan had to rush out to buy a dress to match her.
The staff had even remarked, "Your husband is really good to you."
At that time, Aria didn't think much of it, just smiling awkwardly and waiting for Nathan to return.
This time, Aria was prepared. She wouldn't make the same mistake again. She carefully chose an outfit that matched what Nathan would likely wear.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she saw Nathan leaning against the car, dressed casually, staring at his phone. The sunlight hit his face just right, giving him an almost ethereal glow.
Aria thought her husband looked quite handsome.
She stared at Nathan for a long time until he looked up and noticed her. He put away his phone and waved at her.
Aria jogged over, smiling, “So early?”
Nathan took her hand, standing still for a moment, “It’s Valentine’s Day.”
That meant the county clerk's office would be full of people. They will wait a long time if they don't hurry.
Understanding, Aria quickly got into the car, “Let’s hurry, so we can still have lunch!”
Nathan pulled her back gently, his face showing a hint of exasperation, “We’re already late; a few more minutes won’t make a difference.”
Aria blushed at his words. She had taken extra time to make sure she looked good in the marriage certificate photo, which made them late.
Seeing her reaction, Nathan leaned in and whispered in her ear, “I meant we might as well do something meaningful since we’re already late.”
“What?” Aria was puzzled.
After thinking for a moment, she blushed even more, furrowing her brows and playfully hitting Nathan’s chest, “You’re truely shameless!”
Where had her cold, aloof husband gone?
Nathan, puzzled, looked at Aria while rubbing his chest, “What are you thinking about? I meant we should have breakfast first and then go to the county clerk's office.”
Aria was stunned, then quickly tried to get into the car.
Nathan grabbed her wrist, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her deeply.
It was only then that Aria realized she had been tricked by this cunning man!
This big liar!
