Deep into the silent night, a figure dressed in a black trench coat, wearing a baseball cap and a mask, snuck into a small park.
The park was quiet and dark. The figure used his phone's flashlight but hadn't shone it far when a face appeared before him.
"Ah! You scared me to death!" Leonard clutched his heart, looking at his brother, "Nathan! What are you doing, sneaking up on me like that!"
Nathan's expression was calm, devoid of the warmth he showed Aria.
He pointed to a bench in the dark and walked over.
"Nathan, why did you call me out here in the middle of the night? Couldn't you just call me?" Leonard, despite his complaints, obediently followed.
Nathan sat on the bench, "Don't be disrespectful to your sister-in-law anymore."
Leonard had been a troublemaker since childhood, but only Nathan could handle him. Hearing the reprimand, he frowned, "Nathan, when was I disrespectful to her?"
"Don't you think you were?" Nathan's voice was calm but stern.
Leonard, having grown up with Nathan, knew his brother was genuinely angry.
He quickly tried to placate him, "Nathan, didn't I call her sister-in-law today? Why are you mad at me? Did you really call me out just for this?"
"Yes."
Leonard had asked casually, but Nathan's response made him realize his normally aloof brother had suddenly become so protective to someone.
But the woman he brought today was just a bit pretty, with refined features and a nice voice. She wasn't as stunning as the celebrities he knew.
Leonard's curiosity got the better of him, and he leaned closer to Nathan, "Nathan, be honest. Was that really your first meeting?"
Nathan shook his head, "No."
Leonard sighed in relief, thinking, thank goodness.
Nathan continued, "It was the second time."
"Ah!" Leonard choked, coughing violently.
He looked at Nathan in horror, "Nathan, you decided to spend your life with her after the second meeting?"
"Yes." Nathan nodded calmly.
"Amazing!" Leonard looked at him in awe.
"Alright, I've said what I needed to say. Let's go." Nathan stood up to leave.
Leonard grabbed his arm, "Nathan, I snuck out from my team, risking my manager's wrath to meet you. Shouldn't you at least stay a while longer?"
Nathan sighed, "You just want me to treat you to a late-night snack."
"Haha," Leonard grinned.
Since Leonard was a public figure, they couldn't go to crowded places, so they found a small shop and hid in a corner.
"Nathan, I haven't had this in ages. Tonight, I'm eating to my heart's content!"
Nathan, helpless, said, "Go ahead."
He felt for his brother, who, at just twenty, had been scouted by an entertainment company and hadn’t even attended college.
Ever since then, they barely saw him during holidays unless something urgent brought him home.
Today was special, so Leonard managed to sneak out twice.
His brother’s life was actually tougher than his own.
