Extra Story 1
Ethan, accustomed to smooth sailing throughout his life, encountered his first significant challenge in Sophie. At the age of 23, he and a friend established a security company. Their very first client turned out to be her.
Nineteen-year-old Sophie stood before them, a touch timid, her dark eyes wide as she inquired, "I'd like to hire a bodyguard."
His friend chuckled, "Just a little kid, what do you need a bodyguard for?"
Yet, this girl knew precisely how to leverage her charms. Tears welled up in her eyes instantly.
Alarmed, his friend quickly backtracked, "Alright, alright, don't cry now."
Turning to Ethan, he called out, "Come on, Ethan, console her."
Ethan, inexperienced in such matters, felt flustered by her tears and snapped harshly, "Stop crying or I'll throw you out."
His friend:"……“.
Insisting on choosing her bodyguard herself, Sophie's gaze swept around and finally settled on Ethan. "I want him," she declared.
His friend burst into laughter, "Ah, don't tell me that you choose him because he's good-looking?"
Sophie shook her head in denial. "No, it's because he looks tough enough."
During that period, Ethan found himself with little to do. Staring into her tear-stained eyes, he pondered for a moment before genuinely agreeing to her request.

Ethan grew tired of it, his face often sullen, to the point where he didn't even care about the payment anymore.
Moreover, a nineteen-year-old girl possessed boundless energy, her mind constantly brimming with odd ideas.
He always found himself obliging, mustering patience to indulge her whimsical antics.
He didn't want to, but Sophie was too adept at crying. It was annoying, yet he had to comfort her.
Initially, their unfamiliarity kept things at arm's length. But over time, their proximity led her to learn how to be playful with him.
"Ethan, will you stay with me forever?"
"No." It was merely an employment relationship; there was nothing like forever in his job.
"Oh." Her disappointment was palpable.
Ethan warned himself not to appease her, knowing she'd only become more demanding afterward.
Half an hour later, he couldn't resist asking, "Why are you upset?"
"Ethan, how much money would it take for me to hire you forever?"
No amount would do as he was destined to return to the Green family.
"I decline." After those words, Sophie stared at him, silent for a long while, her eyes brimming with sorrow.
Ethan should have walked away then. But it was too late. Sophie's beautiful eyes filled with tears.
Damn it, the same tactic again! He gritted his teeth, stepped out,but he returned and surrendered once again.
"I retract my previous statement; I will work forever for you if you paid me well."

Ethan accompanied her on a visit to the Campbell family's residence once.

With him by her side, she mustered the courage for the first time to reclaim the relics of her late father that were left behind in the Campbell household.
The house was filled with servants, yet they looked at her with eyes full of contempt.
In the face of such disdainful gazes, Ethan felt an inexplicable surge of anger.
This fury was soon overshadowed by a deep sense of pity when they discovered a hidden camera in her room.
Sophie's face paled as she confronted her mother about it. The woman adjusted her clothes indifferently and replied coldly, "I approved it."
Even the police were powerless in this situation. As luck would have it, their car tire malfunctioned.
Being far from the city center, it was nearly impossible to find a taxi willing to venture out so late at night. They were forced to spend the night there.
Sophie trembled uncontrollably, and Ethan was beside her, trying to soothe her.
It took a long while before he managed to lull her to sleep.
Ethan gazed at her sleeping face, recalling a time when he was swamped with work at the office and Sophie had fallen asleep on the sofa waiting for him.
