It was about three days later.
Mr. Smith's side had almost refused all of our company's requests for meeting.
Perhaps it was because my assistant and I had made many trips back and forth.
Finally, Mr. Smith's secretary revealed me the reason.
Shortly after that dinner, Mr. Smith was dragged into an alley, and his left hand was nearly crushed.
Mr. Smith's secretary looked at me deeply.
"Mr. Green is very skilled at tormenting people; Mr. Smith’s left hand might just end up disabled."
"Miss Lane, with such a powerful ally, why stoop to collaborate with us?"
I was speechless.
Mr. Green.
Who else could it be?
About an hour later, my friend drove me to A hotel.
After several years of scrambling, I had built some connections.
It was said that the Green family's headquarters had dispatched a promising young executive to discuss with the Campbell Corporation's project team at the hotel.
Before this, the Green family had always favored Campbell Corporation.
That Campbell Corporation of my beast-like stepfather.
That's why I had resorted to seeking Mr. Smith.
Now with Mr. Smith shutting his doors, the only chance for my company's revival lay with the Green family.
When I pushed open the door, everyone in the room turned to look at me.
Isabel was there too; she burst out laughing.
"Sister, you're late."
I looked at the man in the main seat.
I sighed with relief; it was indeed him.
Ethan, in a black suit, his tie the navy blue I liked, silently flipping through a business proposal.
He didn't even lift his head at my arrival.
"Ethan..."
"Nathan, please escort the irrelevant people out."
This indifference, similar to that day's ruthless farewell.
He said, "Miss Lane, once you leave this door, we are strangers."
As Nathan approached, I tightly gripped the back of my chair.
"Ethan..."
Ethan looked up at me after that call, his eyes colder, filled with displeasure.
I swallowed the words I was about to say and changed my address:
"Mr. Green."
