However, even Vivienne didn't anticipate that Aria would turn out so twisted. Those words would anger anyone who heard them.
Melanie nodded, agreeing. It was just a shame that Aria wouldn't be joining her father and brother behind bars.
As they talked, Leonard emerged from the study, passing by Vivienne with a composed expression. "Contact the media. Make a statement about cutting ties with her."
"Alright," Vivienne replied with a slight smirk.
Leonard wasn't one for dawdling. When decisiveness was required, he never hesitated.
Melanie was satisfied with this approach. Issuing a public statement meant there was no turning back.
"By the way, the documents Aria saw were fake, right?" Melanie inquired.
Vivienne nodded. "Of course. We laid a trap for her to reveal her true colors; why would we let her see the real proposal?" She wasn't foolish.
With Aria's issue resolved, Melanie was delighted.
Tilting her head, she asked Asher, "Can I still visit your workplace?" It was an excuse she'd used earlier with Aria around, but honestly, she was keen on seeing it.
Asher agreed without hesitation, "Sure, shall we go now?"
"Okay." Melanie followed Asher, radiating happiness.
Unmasking Aria was more important to her than any major life event.
Asher sensed her elation and looked at her helplessly. "You are very pleased. Are you?"
Melanie nodded honestly."Yes." Then, remembering something, she wondered if Asher would think her violent for slapping Aria.
She pondered and softly added, "Actually, I'm very gentle... I don't usually hit people."
Asher leaned over to help her fasten her seatbelt, saying, "I know. In fact, I'm gentle too. I just didn't control my strength with that kick."
Melanie was speechless. Fair enough, she slapped Aria, and Asher kicked her.
Melanie swiftly changed the subject. "Will my visit to your office disrupt your work?"
"Not at all," Asher reassured her, patting her head with his free hand.
"If anything, it motivates me." Melanie was left wordless. I think I've been flirted with again.
After leaving the Snow family, Aria immediately found Ethan, eager for his praise. Instead, she received a slap from Ethan.
Aria stared at him in disbelief. "What's wrong with you? I burned bridges with them for you, and you hit me?"
Her already swollen cheek swelled further.
She hadn't gone to the hospital but came straight to deliver the goods, and he hit her?
Ethan gripped his phone, his eyes bloodshot. "Are you brainless? Didn't you check the content before taking pictures? It's fake! Fake!"
Aria was dumbfounded. Fake? How could it be fake? She had taken those photos herself...
Wait. Aria suddenly realized that if Vivienne and the others knew her intentions, the easily accessible documents and plans in the study couldn't possibly be genuine.
She was stunned. Indeed, if they were real, Vivienne wouldn't have let her leave the Snow family so easily.
Frustrated, she tugged at her hair, berating her own stupidity. Ethan angrily threw his phone. Aria was startled by his frenzied behavior.
