In an instant, it seemed as if even the air had frozen.
Jasmine was petrified under his stern, piercing gaze.
In a panic, she screamed inside her mind:
"System, make him forget this—replace Ryan's memory of tonight!"
"A friendly reminder, Player, most of your mission points were spent on cleaning up after killing Grace," the system said.
"This is your last ten points, are you sure you want to use them?"
Jasmine said without hesitation, "Yes."
The next second, Ryan's gaze became blank.
As if he hadn't seen Jasmine, he turned and walked into the bedroom.
When Ryan woke up, he was dazed for a long time.
A myriad of emotions flowed through his eyes, eventually settling into indifference.
I watched him pick up the phone and call Jasmine:
"About last night, I'm sorry, I was drunk."
Ryan paused, then continued,
"Let's meet and talk."
After hanging up, Ryan got up and walked to the door.
In the coffee shop beneath the Rivers building, he met with Jasmine.
I finally learned what she had replaced my brother's memory with from the previous night—
"Mr. Rivers, I was about to leave after taking you home, but then you suddenly embraced me, and I—I didn't dodge..."
Jasmine stuttered, her ears turning red.
The system praised her: "Player, your acting is superb!"
Ryan sat opposite her, his eyelashes lowered.
Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating his face with his skin almost translucent and his eyes as deep as ocean whirlpools.
Hearing this, he slightly raised his hand.
Leaning forward, his tone full of apology, he said, "I will take responsibility."
"If you don't mind, Miss Smith, let's be together."
