Chapter 10

　　Exiting the hotel, I hailed a taxi on the roadside for the airport.
　　"Hannah, where are you going?"
　　Just as I was about to enter the taxi, my arm was seized forcefully.
　　I froze in shock, turning to see Evan.
　　Silence hung in the air.
　　"Don't go."
　　"What are you doing?"
　　"I have a flight to catch."
　　"Are you getting in or not?"
　　Evan spoke to the driver, then shut the door.
　　"Sorry, we're not going anywhere."
　　"Not going? Why did you hail a taxi then? Wasting my time."
　　The taxi driver cursed and drove off.
　　I glanced over at Ivory stood not far from me, whose face was cracking with an unreadable expression, and then looked back at Evan, puzzled. "What is this about?"
　　He tightened his grip on my arm.
　　"And you? What is your meaning? We're still legally married. Where are you off to alone?"
　　"I didn't sign those divorce papers."
　　My face contorted in displeasure.
　　"You're hurting me."
　　He realized, letting go abruptly.
　　The hotel entrance was not a place for conversation.
　　He drove us to the seaside.
　　I lowered the car window, gazing at the vast expanse of the sea, its salty scent permeating the air.
　　"Why didn't you sign them? Wasn't that what you wanted?"
　　I saw him gripping the steering wheel tightly.
　　"What I wanted, huh."
　　"If you have something to say, spit it out."
　　Suddenly, he reached over and grasped my hand firmly.
