We entered a five star hotel, where Vexon booked a table for two at the farthest corner, where we would get privacy.
After we reached here, Vexon pulled a chair for me and then took a seat himself. We even finished ordering our dinner, which arrived a few minutes ago while we were talking about different things.
��It is really hard to get some alone time, isn��t it?�� questioned Vexon, to which I hummed in response.
��Life is already becoming busier than usual and it is just the beginning. I am really scared of what will happen next.�� I took a spoonful of steak. ��What if we can��t give each other time anymore?�� Even the thought itself scared me, but I had to let out whatever I was thinking, since it was our moment.
Vexon smiled in my direction. ��Look, love. Come what may, we will always have time for each other.��
��But you are busy with the office and then you sneak out to the base at night when I fall asleep. You don��t have time for me at all. Or maybe you don��t love me anymore,�� I said, feeling very sad now.
What if Vexon really didn��t love me anymore?
��No. Have you gone crazy?�� Vexon was dumbfounded hearing what I was saying. Even I had no idea why I was saying all this crazy stuff. ��I love you. I am doing all these for you and our kids. I don��t want any of you in trouble.��
��But you barely stay with me now,�� I tried to reason out.
��I am really sorry for not being able to give you time,�� he let out. ��How about I complete my office work from the house, four days a week, while on the other two working days, I will go to the company?��
I thought for a while about the offer he proposed. He would stay in the house, so he would stay with me. ��Then what about Gladiolus?�� I asked him.
He twitched his lips, probably thinking for an answer. ��I will go there at one and be home by four.��
Narrowing my eyes, I said sternly, ��By three.��
He mumbled in defeat, ��Fine.��
It made me grin. He knew it was futile to argue with me in this matter.
Throwing the emotional card was always the best after all.
��Have you talked to Cason or Keya recently?�� I decided to raise this topic now.
Furrowing his brows, he said to me, ��I spoke to Cason two days ago. Yesterday, I wanted to call him but after I lashed out to you, I didn��t feel like doing anything. Also, I barely talk to Keya.��
��Oh.��
��Why do you ask though?��
I replied, ��Actually, before we came here, I was talking to Keya over the phone. She called me.��
Vexon was listening to me, all of his focus was on me. ��And��?��
��Cason was sending the bombs in Canada and a few cops caught those,�� I said hesitantly.
Vexon��s eyes darkened at that instant. ��Armament is our business. We have a license, Ruby. How can Cason screw up this silly matter?�� He took out his phone, ready to call Cason and give him an earful.
I grabbed his hand, keeping my spoon on the plate. ��Vexon, don��t call him now. First, calm yourself and then, you can explain everything to him nicely.��
��I am tired of being nice. Just because he is my brother doesn��t mean I will let him ruin our business,�� he grumbled.
��But in the end, family is family. We cannot afford to lose him as well,�� I explained to him. ��Let��s enjoy the dinner, have a nice night and then, you can talk to him tomorrow.��

I cut him off, with a pleading look on my face, ��Please, Vexon. Cason is very scared, and so is Keya.��
He closed his eyes and released a sigh in frustration. ��Fine.��
��Okay, now cheer up and order an espresso for me,�� I uttered, which made Vexon look at me with an amusing look.
��Espresso? At this time?�� He looked at my small baby bump. ��Are you sure you don��t want me to order dessert for you? There are delicious items.��
As much as I wanted to eat dessert, the baby didn��t. My mood was to drink espresso after this heavy dinner.
��I can��t help. I am craving for it.�� Placing my hand on my stomach, I mumbled, ��The things I have to do for you, baby. You better remember your mom chose espresso over delicious desserts.��
Chuckling, Vexon ordered two cups of espresso. When he saw me arching an eyebrow in confusion, he said to me and winked, ��I can��t let my beautiful wife drink espresso alone.��
I laughed at his words.
We continued talking about random things. While talking, I realized how much stressed Vexon actually was about work. I wished I could lessen his stress, but I couldn��t help him in work and he wouldn��t let me do that. He wanted me to rest all the time. He does so much for me, and our family.
Vexon told me that Michael Ares, the gang leader of the Tentrons turned out to be a backstabber as expected. I knew that guy screamed trouble. I and Vexon, none of us liked him from the beginning.
��Will you expose that bastard?�� I asked, feeling steam coming out of my ears. How could that Michael trap my husband?
��Already done, love.�� Vexon chortled. ��By the way, you still turn me on whenever you become angry.��
��Then when shall we work to calm you down?�� I winked at him as I spoke in a sensual voice.
Vexon��s eyes glinted in amusement and he cleared his throat. He leaned towards me and whispered, ��Let��s wait till we get home.��
I spoke further, ��I bet, Everley and Allison, both are asleep by now already. We have the entire night.��
��Fuck it,�� Vexon mumbled and groaned.
I burst into laughter seeing him. But my happiness didn��t last long when a blond man, who was in a blue suit, stood nearby our table and said, ��Excuse me. Is that you, Ruby?��
As soon as I saw the familiar green eyes, I asked to be sure, ��Liam?��
