Chapter 2

I wanted to call Daddy but Mommy set a password on her phone.

I tried unlocking it with Mommy's face like I always do. The phone was still in sleep mode didn't react.

I thought about asking Ms.Brooks for help. Her door was shut tight. It seemed like nobody was home.

Back in my room, I could only climb onto bed. I lay next to Mommy, watching her.

Mommy looked so pretty asleep. She was like a fairy from a fairytale.

Daddy used to watch her in this way too. Sometimes he'd nibble her gently like a puppy. Then he'd carry her back to their room. Mommy is scared of dogs but she never pushed him away.

These thoughts made me smile. The next morning, Mommy always seemed busy with a smile on her face

Daddy is different. He sit and looked at his phone. He ate breakfast in a hurry. Then he took me to kindergarten. After that, he went to his office.

The teachers at kindergarten thought Daddy is very handsome. They said that he's like a movie star. But they haven't seen Silas Wilde's dad.

Silas Wilde's dad always carried him on the shoulders. That looks super cool.

As for me,Daddy just let me walk into kindergarten by myself.
